This light is exactly what I needed for underbar terrarium heating and UVB in my 20 Long. For reference I keep my livingroom at around 72; and with this lamp on the opposite end of the 20 Long as my permanent thermometer, I'm getting 81 degrees Farenheit for my cool side; my infrared lasertherm is reading 94 degrees Farenheit on the surface of 2" of sand substrate. That's perfect for my sand geckos. I don't mind the design of this, either. I also really kind of appreciate the heat warning sticker that gets red when this is too hot to touch. Maybe I won't burn myself? It's probably best for 20gal or less; You could use it for something larger but you'd have to be creative; maybe if you have a really large terrarium you could make a tall hill and use this toward the top of it. At 12" it raised my ambient air temps approximately 23 degrees Farenheit. ... show more

They literally thought of everything! Very sturdy and well-crafted. Aesthetically stunning. Simple setup and operation. So user-friendly it's almost crazy! Separate cords and power switches for simpler operation depending on time of day and pets individual needs. All I needed was a simple 2 plug timer and my new baby Australian White Tree Frog is basically running on autopilot. If you need a 25-40w lamp, do yourself a favor and buy this one. P.S. this is one of 7 actively running in my room right now, so that's saying something... ... show more
