  • Excellent Quality, Very Easy to Set Up
This is the third CCTV system I have installed on our home. This one is, by far, the best one and the easiest one to set up. I have 10 channels running. Power Over Ethernet (POE) seems to me (for now, anyway) the way to go with a wired setup. The single, standard cable and connector is solid and easy to use. The cameras are excellent quality. The video is the best we've had. The cameras are easy to adjust with a single 3mm hex-key to lock and unlock adjustment. The night vision is very good and the infrared emitters on the cameras have a surprisingly long range. I first installed the cameras. I then ran the cables to unit and tested the output. I then secured the cables to the building as needed and stowed the extra cable (above the suspended ceiling in our basement). Once I had the cables secured, I was able to look at the camera output on the application on my smart phone and adjust the camera angle and levelness with live feedback on the smart phone (up on my ladder). Really nice. I did buy several 100-foot cables prior to installing the system and I did need that extra length (beyond the 60-foot cables supplied with the kit) for several of the camera locations. As others have noted, the documentation accompanying the system is pretty minimal. Luckily, the system sets up so easily, I hardly needed the labeling, The application was super easy to install and use. I really love the smartphone application. It is, if anything,m even easier to use than the main system itself. The ability to see what's going on live, remotely, is great. One of the things I like about the system is that it's easy to play back. This has been a major frustration on *previous* systems (which shall remain unnamed): Horrible (horrible) user interface for playback (on those *other* systems). ... show more

  • They were good enough to catch a theif.
The media could not be loaded. So after getting robbed for the 2nd time, I decided to upgrade to these 5mp Reolink ip cameras. First off the picture is very good quality. I was able to use the client pc software to disable night vision on particular cameras because of the excessive night lights. I would recommend you check this out. Setup was simple. The Nvr recognized the new ip cameras and within a few minutes after downloading App I was live on my phone. I don't recommend the motion alarms. they are really finicky, I tried to adjust the sensitivity and adjust the area but it still goes off every time the wind blows or a stray passes. We did manage to catch the flower plant bandit too. It was good enough quality to recognize the perp. I'm not posting the close up video but I can assure it was a clean shot. Only con: when it rains the cameras fog up. as you can see in the first picture. it rained here 3 days ago still has a little fogging in the lenses. two other cameras do it also but only last a day. Overall good cameras for the price. ... show more

  • Very good system and its worth the investment
I bought this system earlier in the year and had it installed for some time. And I must say its a complete package and worth the investment. Once the cameras are physically installed just connect them to the NVR and configuration is easy. I also acquired the Reolink PTZ 5mp camera and configuring that camera was easy as well. I have it connected to a 55 inch tv for monitoring, as well as the app on my tablet. The footage is clear in the day and night. Motion detection works. The system also sends me emails of pictures of motion around the house. I haven't had any issues so I didn't have to engage tech support. I highly recommend this system!!!! ... show more

  • Great! But...
I don't write many reviews. Only when a product I buy really jumps out at me (good or bad) do I take the time to write out my thoughts. I bought these back in October of 2019, but I've been deployed overseas until now so I finally was able to install them. After two weeks of running them, here's my thoughts on this ~$700+ purchase. The Good: * Great picture quality. Love the cameras! They have amazing night vision and are so clear during the day. I saw another reviewer had a problem with his fogging up in the rain, but I haven't had that with mine. * The app and set up of the Network Video Recorder was super simple. I'm not a tech nerd, so sometimes that stuff can be overwhelming. But this was pretty much plug and play. Pretty self explanatory for setting up the different options. Now the bad: * The ethernet cable is terrible. Out of the 8-60 foot cables I received, 3 of them had bad connectors. Bad enough that at first I thought I had a camera that wasn't working. The wire itself just seems very low quality. If you bend it too much, it starts looking brittle; like the outer shell of the line is going to crumble. (My brother has an ethernet cable tester that tests the connection of each little wire inside the cable. The 3 bad cables had multiple wire breaks inside) * The hard drive and fan inside the NVR is very loud. I may go ahead and add an external HDD, but I wasn't originally planning on that. So don't put this system anywhere close to where you sleep. It is definitely louder than any modern HDD that I've ever dealt with. * Back to the ethernet cable. It comes with some waterproof lids to keep the plug out of the rain. Well they won't even fit over the RJ45 connectors! There is a plastic piece that is part of the wire that prevents the waterproof lid from fitting over. So, 3 bad ethernet cables and now I have to replace all of the RJ45 connectors for the remaining wires just to get the lids over them... Added work. Overall, I'm still pretty happy with it. I gave it 4 stars, but I'd say it's 3 stars on the peripherals and 5 stars on the picture quality/cameras. I know very well that I'm not buying a top of the line system. But ethernet cable isn't THAT expensive nowadays. Would it really eat into their profits too much to put good quality CAT6 in the package? Or would it be that hard to make sure your waterproof lids fit over the existing RJ45 plugs? I just didn't know I'd have to buy some higher quality ethernet cable to make this work like it was supposed to. In time, I'll come back to this if anything else pops up. ... show more
