I received this product on a Wednesday and got it set up that same day. There were a couple of "Small" Issues with the equipment. For example, The DVD/CD drawer would be barely open , and the power cord for the monitor was loose and kept shutting the monitor down. Also, the dongle for the WI-FI is completely useless. I located the computer around 10' from the router and it's still had barely 1.5 Mb of a signal. I ordered a TP-link AC600 WI-FI Adapter and that did a marvelous job in providing a strong signal. That's about the only part of this whole adventure that has turned out well. This is my second time ordering this refurbished computer and the first one has worked out pretty well, but I wanted one in another part of the house , which is why I ordered this one. Anyway, on Saturday morning, I attempted to boot up the computer and it just gets stuck with the power button flashing two times then three times, but never powering on. I have been working on it now for a few hours and I contacted Amazon customer service and they have contacted the seller who's supposed to get back to me within two business days. I suspect I'm going to have to box this whole thing up and go through the extreme hassle of sending it back and taking a chance on a different unit. Very disappointing to say the least... UPDATE, March 30, 2023 I received a replacement CPU within about 12 days of sending off the original one to Sugar Land Texas. The new one got hooked up and I found out it has the exact opposite problem. Where the original one wouldn't boot up, the replacement won't shut off. When it's shut down or put to sleep, after about five seconds, it reboots on it's own. Not a disaster as i could shut the power off as soon as it safely powered down and before it rebooted. Anyway, a day or so later, it prompted me to restart it due to Windows updates. I did and it got stuck in a never ending loop where it said it was unable to install the updates and was undoing the changes. It would just keep this noticed for over an hour. I contacted support at Discount Computer and spoke to "James" who had been communicating with me via Email and he was unable to help.Just wanted me to send in the unit for a refund. I spoke to his supervisor who instructed me to press the power button for 10 seconds, which I did and eventually the unit rebooted properly and was only back to my original problem. The supervisor said it was apparently a "Windows" issue and we might need to reinstall. After a couple of days I sent them an Email asking how to reinstall Windows as the problems persisted. My reply was, "We'll send you a return sticked and refund your money". Not the greatest experience with Discount Computers, (They seem to have other nanes as well like Blair Technology...).

(UPDATE 7/29/21) I'm disappointed now because I've started getting the blue screen of death crashes for reasons unknown. The latest crash I experienced was while I was watching youtube, nothing strenuous. All of the crashes that I have experienced I have only been browsing the internet, doing my shopping, or watching youtube. I don't do any heavy gaming because the hardware can't handle too much, unfortunately. Besides the crashing, it's not too bad of a computer for the price. It's definitely the "you get what you pay for" kind of deal. (3/23/21) This computer is great and I'm glad I bought it. I've had it for almost three weeks. It didn't come with the monitor that was pictured but after talking to customer service that was fixed and I was sent the correct monitor. The tower itself is rather noisy, there's a lot of grinding noises coming from it. It functions well, I haven't had any technical or hardware issues at all. It can do some light gaming but can't handle anything heavy. I recommend this for anyone needing a computer who's on a budget.

I bought this for my father to replace his old 8-year-old laptop. He never took the laptop anywhere, so I purchased this in its place. I wasn't expecting much from a refurbished PC, he only does email and finances on it. I was surprised at the high quality package we received. Other than being older, it came with everything needed and looked like a new pc, it was very clean. It's way more capable than my dad will ever use. I don't know how JSM is making any money on these machines, it seems like they're giving them away. Highly recommend checking JSM out when PC shopping.

That old adage is so true - You get what you pay for. Well, I got the deal I paid for. My new "Renewed" DELL Optiplex 990 desktop computer does work. It works as well as expected to work for the price I paid. So although what I received leaves little to be excited about, I can say - "It does work as Amazon said this "Renewed" computer and monitor would". Let me put it this way - Somebody went dumpster diving at an office/business. The DELL computer CPU is old, like circa 2000. It is so old, Bluetooth had not been created yet. So it came with a Bluetooth flash drive to insert into one of the USB port. I have 3 different speakers of my own, NONE of them work in this computer. Luckily, I planned on using a dual monitors, so my own monitor has a speaker on it that works well. Speaking of monitors, I don't know who was working quality control, but I have no idea why they could not see that the monitor they included was hazy. There is no way to improve the visual acuity of this monitor. Honestly, had I not desperately needed a computer to start my new Work at Home job, I would have sent it back to Amazon Renew. I have a 90 day return agreement if not satisfied, and I am still considering it, but I would miss precious work time and possible job loss in the time it would take to pack it up and then drop it off to UPS. Buyer beware.
