  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of doubles.
A lot of double and triple (and more) but plenty to keep me happy. Graphics on the board are nice also.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Super cool, super fun, super retro...
The media could not be loaded. THE GOOD: -------------- * 9900 games... wow! * The Pandora arcade has been around for awhile now, so you're getting one of their more powerful, and polished generations. * Build quality is not bad. The acrylic glass at the top is very nice. * Sticks and buttons are probably not high end Sanwa stuff, but they are good enough for casual gamers, and par for the course at this price range. * HDMI and VGA outputs. I've read negative comments by others about the VGA, but I think that's because they're not familiar with this hobby. Hardcore retro gamers want and appreciate the VGA port because then they can use it with CRT monitors. They actually prefer it over HDMI because visually, CRTs are more arcade accurate. I don't care. I'm only a casual gamer, but I'm just letting you know why it's there. * Many games, you're offered game saves, so you can continue next time where you left off. But I didn't see this offered for every game I tried. Some didn't offer it. * Plenty of 4 player games are available, just plug in a usb gamepad. You have two usb ports in the back. Watch my video for tips. Out the box, the 3rd and 4th player usb ports do not work. You need to go into the settings. I have two kids, so it was important for me to figure this out. LOL! * Customer service was very quick and responsive. I was trying to get 3rd and 4th player to work, and I figured it out before they got back to me, but they did get back to me the very next day. THE BAD: ------------ * Not all the games function properly. For example, Rampage World Tour has no audio. Many games seem to be duplicates, or unnecessary duplicates. Still, there are 9900 titles, so there will be plenty to keep you happy. * Don't think you can turn off internal speakers. There is a volume rocker in the back, but if you lower this rocker, not only does the internal speaker go down, but whatever audio system you're connected to will go down too. I talk about this in my video. I think this is a 5 star product. Because the prices for these things have gone down, while the specs have gone up. If you're jumping in now, you're getting a more powerful system at a lower price than if you had jumped in 5 yrs ago. I held out. I went the retropie route. I bought an Xarcade stick and built retropie with a raspberry pi. You ultimately have a better system tailored to your liking, but the raspberry pi won't be inside the arcade stick like this Pandora system. Well, it could be, it would just take more work. Building a retro pie will end up costing more, as well as being time consuming because there is a big learning curve if you've never built one, not to mention knowing how to get the games. You can go through all that, or get yourself one of these Pandora systems and start playing immediately! 5-Stars. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Looks great but it's just okay...
The media could not be loaded. To be honest I wasn't expecting much, and well it wasn't much. It is a great looking console, that is one of it's good points. Well made with a nice graphic background. Plus it has lights that change color. Also has speakers that are not terrible. I don't know about any one else, but when I see a VGA connection, it's a red flag, or old tech. This is a retro machine and it's suppose to be modern, least that is the way they put it. Curious how many people even have a VGA monitor or TV these days. Guess, there is probably enough. Having a VGA output is not a bad thing, just saying, it doesn't inspire confidence. Super easy to hook up. Plug in the included HDMI cable (nice and long actually), plugin the power cord and plug the other end into an AC outlet. That's it. It did take a few tries for my TV to see it, not sure why. But once on it works as it should. While it's kind a cool device, couple things that are not the best... First, and most importantly, there are NO labels on the buttons. Really? The interface tells you which button to push, like A, but how do you know which one that is if they don't label them? That just does not make sense. Actually kind of lazy to me. It does not even tell yin the instructions. Really? (again). So you are left to your own to figure it out. Top left is A if any one wants to know. Have not figured the rest yet. They claim this has 9900 games. I have not counted them all, but I can tell you there are a ton of repeats, I mean many. One game I saw has 5 different instances. Repeats of so many. There are quite a few name brand games, though I don't see how they have a license to use those. Actually I think the first version of Kart, if you know what I mean. I am guessing, you could deduct at least 25% or more, to duplicates. That leads to finding games... there are so many pages, it would take forever. They do have a few categories but could use so many more, to narrow it down. They also have a search function, though it can be fun being you use the joystick, but it does work okay. So, could be better, but not terrible. I was around when there were actual arcades in my teen years, so I was happy to find quite a few old ones I use to play. Not all, but many I searched for. Alot of the games I think will be unknown. Odd titles that might have never come out? So many odd games. Also seems to be a majority of fighting games, if you are into those, you might like this. As for was how it looks... I hooked this up to a 55" Vizio 4k tv. How it looks is really going to depend on the game, some are so old, miracles don't happen. But some of them, like in the video I posted actually looked better than I expected. Sound is about what you expect as well. They are old games. I have not put many hours on it, but I did have an issue with the game I posted the video for, forget exactly which on. For some reason, the one character, capn america like froze up, that was the computer one, and the sound looped for some time, kind of annoying. It did unfreeze and play okay after that. Just hope it's not something that will happen often. This is not a power house by any means. The instructions say it has a Cortex A7 and it is suppose to have 2GB ram. But it runs retro games, so it's like you need a gaming rig. Overall, it's not a bad system, so far. I like it. If they made the improvements I mentioned above, it could be a 5 star product. If you like Retro games, you should like this. Just don't expect it to be perfect. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Wowza!
This is awesome. So many games, so little time! This is any retro gamer’s dream come true. With a Pandora OS, two players stations, and RGB backlit. It even comes for an extra button. Now the bad - the joystick and buttons aren’t the highest quality, but that likely has kept the cost down. I’ve made game tables before and I purchased higher quality parts. A heavy player will need to replace and upgrade these at some point. The casual player shouldn’t have any problems. This is a great gift for any kid or for a nostalgic adult like me!
