I really appreciate the comfort and peace of mind that comes with this gate. We have a high bed that our niece sleeps in sometimes and we were always so worried about her falling off, but not with this. There is a really cool feature- a bar that sticks into the bed to reduce risk of entrapment and suffocation which is great. It’s very easy to assemble and install, and it is very lightweight. It attaches with a strap that goes underneath the mattress and hooks on the other side. Very easy to open and lay down—a little too easy though since my niece opens it all the time when she’s off the bed. I deducted a star for this- I just wish that part was a little more childproof.     • This is a must for co sleeping but not really for ikea beds

My newborn hates the cradle and the bassinet. She only sleeps with us on our bed. We love having her nearby too but sometimes we put her on our chest while she doesn’t sleep. I was worried that we would fall asleep with her on the chest and wanted something next to protect her. This works well. It’s not meant for ikea kind of beds where the slats are low. It assumes that the slats are on the same level as the edge of the bed. So we had a lot of difficulty installing It and are mostly hacking it right now. Due to the low slats, the expected height reduces significantly for us. I’m reducing 2 stars coz this is not clear in the item description and they must accommodate such beds too. I’m adding 1 star back again coz there doesn’t seem to be any other products for such beds anyway. ... show more

This bed rail was surprisingly very difficult to assemble. The instructions had mislabeled parts. Also, attaching the cover was not explained well, and the steps were incorrect. I tried following the instructions but eventually abandoned then altogether. I had to use trial and error to put it together, and I ended up having to take apart the whole thing 3 times before it was assembled correctly. I know I’ll get backlash, but we bought this because my baby cosleeps, mostly because dad travels a lot for work and it’s easier for me nursing at night in our big bed. The product is easy to assemble it honestly took me maybe 2 minutes if that to assemble two of the railings. The only difficult part was getting it on the bed as we wrapped it around the bedframe as well to make sure it stays in place. It’s very easy to put together and understand how to use with the east instructions the only down fall is my baby found ways to put his weight on the top bar enough that the little switch tab part to raise and lower it snaps and he would like almost face plant everytime lol
