This shade was a good fit for my house because it combines practicality with a modern design. While it does a good job of meeting most of my requirements for a window treatment, there are a few issues that prohibit me from giving it five stars. The absence of a cord is the standout feature of this lamp shade. In addition to contributing to a more streamlined aesthetic, the elimination of cords also increases safety, which is especially important for households with young children and pets. Notable is the simplicity of operation; a little lift or pull is all that's needed to set the desired shade height, allowing for a smooth change between natural light and privacy. The blackout fabric performs as advertised, eliminating unwanted light to create an ideal setting for rest or contemplation. When the sun was shining in the morning and I wanted to relax in my room, this was a great addition. Unexpectedly, the shade's capacity to muffle outside noise greatly improved the quality of life inside. In order to accommodate a wide range of window shapes and sizes, the "Trim-at-Home" function has been included. The time and effort saved by not having to hire a professional to cut and fit the shade was well worth it. Trimming was a breeze thanks to the detailed directions, and the outcome was a customized and tidy appearance. I would give this product five stars if it weren't for a few issues. While "no tools" installation was promised, considerable work was required to ensure the shade was installed securely. The included adhesive strips did a good job of keeping the shade in place, but I found that more was needed to make sure it fit securely, especially on bigger windows. The blackout function was very effective, however there was some light seepage around the shade's edges. This became more noticeable while trying out various shade heights. It didn't severely impair the shade's performance, but its blackout qualities were compromised. Because of its neutral color and simple silhouette, the white cloth shade can be used in a variety of settings. The cellular design gives the shade a touch of subtle texture without detracting from its otherwise sleek and modern look. Those in need of discretion and light regulation will find the Redi Shade No Tools Easy Lift Trim-at-Home Cordless Cellular Blackout Fabric Shade an excellent option. It's a great addition to any home because it's cordless, has blackout material, and can be made to fit any window. Installation can be tricky, and some light may still get through, but these issues are outweighed by the shade's usefulness and convenience. I absolutely LOVE these blinds. But with a few modifications. They are inexpensive. Minimalist look and EASY to install. I had a whole house of blinds to install on a budget and these look amazing! Originally, I thought they would be a temporary solution until I could get wood blinds. But I love them so much I’m not taking them down anytime soon! HOWEVER, there are tricks to getting these to look custom and not fall down: Hand cutting didn’t work for us. We wrapped the ends with blue painter’s tape and cut with a table saw with fine blade. Perfect quick cuts. Use 1” wide clear gorilla mounting tape. Just remove the paper covering the blind’s original tape and slap on the gorilla tape right over it. Press hard into place and leave it alone overnight so the tape can cure. The company does not make handles to fit these blinds. I can’t understand that? I was finding that the fabric would get a little stained over time from handling and wanted a solution. I have a similar hardware installed blind from Walmart and found that the handle fits these pretty well! I’ve attached photos but you will need the 1/8” thick Scotch mounting pads to secure these because they are not quite tall enough, but they are the closest fit I can find and look terrific. Once you apply the mounting tapes to the handle as shown in my photos, firmly push the handle in place. Kind of squeeze it together to get the adhesive to stick to both sides of the bar of the blind. I leave them alone for about 24 hours and they were STUCK in place. No more dirty blinds and very easy to move blind up and down now. The part number for the blind handle is P15BH1 and you can purchase in bulk from fixmyblinds.com I hope this helps others with the same issue. I use these on both the light filtering and blackout cellular blinds. We love both styles and they look great inside and outside from the street as well!! Redi Shade should really make a handle to fit perfectly and improve their adhesive. But with these hacks you will definitely enjoy these blinds. ... show more
