  • Great Western Game
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Standard
Okay, so I didn’t expect to get this into Red Dead Redemption 2, but wow—it’s seriously one of the best games I’ve ever played. The graphics are insane, like you feel like you’re actually in the Wild West. Riding horses, hunting, and just exploring the world is super fun, even when you're not doing missions. The story is deep and emotional. I didn’t think I’d care that much about the characters, but Arthur Morgan is legit one of the coolest and most complex characters I’ve seen in a game. You actually feel like your choices matter. Combat is solid, and there’s so much to do—side quests, treasure hunts, fishing, even playing poker. It’s not just a game, it’s like living in another world. If you’re into open-world games and want something that’s more than just shooting and action, this is totally worth it. Honestly, I’d give it a 10/10. It’s not just a game—it’s an experience. ... show more

  • A must have and a bar setting title or the open world rpg genre
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Standard
The best experience in gaming I’ve had since The Witcher 3. I’ve already sunk well over 100 hours into this game and I’m still on chapter 4, with no end in sight of things to do. Don’t listen to anybody giving this game a bad review. If you want an enormous world with a deep and complex system of controls and techniques to master, this is a great game. 100 hours in and I just figured out you can holster your pistol in a fancy way by double tapping the holster button. That’s one example of how many little things you’ll figure out along the way that’ll continue to surprise you at just the level of detail this game has. Rockstar set the bar on the quality of open world rpg’s with this game. Anybody giving this game a bad review is either too impatient to learn the game, open world rpg’s can just be too complicated and the controls too deep for some people that they just get frustrated and blame the controls, or just plain salty they don’t have a console and can’t play, so they leave negative reviews based on tiny issues they may have seen in a YouTube video or something. I live for games that you can immerse yourself into for actual years, this is one of those rare treats we don’t get that often, something that will be enjoyable to play even solo until we see the likes of cyberpunk 2077. I still play the Witcher 3, sometimes out of sheer appreciation even though I’ve played everything top to bottom after 3 years, I’ll do the same for this game. 10/10, stop wasting your time on any other game right now and just buy it. You could spend $60 dollars for an empty game Bethesda pushed out or pay $60 dollars for a game Rockstar poured years into to make the most believable, alive, immersive open world game we’ve ever seen. ... show more

  • Great story, very addictive.

Honestly the only game I've ever bought that I felt was worth $60. Even if you don't do anything but the main story missions, this game is pretty darn good. The hunting gameplay is really what bumped it from a 4-star to a 5-star game for me; I would've paid $30 just for a hunting game this good. I haven't even touched Red Dead Online yet and I'm completely satisfied with the length and quality of gameplay I've gotten out of it. That being said, the controls can be clunky at times, but you get used to them after your first dozen accidental murders. There are occasional glitches that don't really hamper gameplay but break the immersive experience. I guess if I'm being nitpicky, I should point out that you don't really NEED to eat except to re-fill your cores, you don't really NEED to donate to your camp or do any chores, you don't NEED to bathe, and you don't really NEED to buy or upgrade any weapons in order to make it through the game, so if you're worried about having to micromanage your character, don't be - it's not too bad, which is actually a negative for me. ... show more

  • Another instant Rockstar classic!
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Standard
While it's not without it's flaws, I am loving this game. Rockstars attention to detail is incredible. The world feels like a living, breathing, entity. The chore thing is a bit, well, boring, constantly having to brush your horse is a bit annoying, and how easily it is to become accidentally "wanted" gets on my nerves. Put that aside and you can get lost in hunting, fishing, robbery, NPC side stories that can be humorous or tug on your emotional heart strings, checking out a vaudeville show, playing cards, robbing trains, fighting locals, collecting bounties, taking photos, hunting dinosaur bones and sooooooo much more. For a game this size to have some flaws should be expected. 4 years in and still loving the game! ... show more
