Top Amazon Reviews

  • Actual honest review: "it's ok"
Color: Wood Red
First things first, this player comes with an offer: free album for a 5* review. That's not how this works. I hate fake reviews. It makes it all too easy to push overpriced junk, and I won't be a part of that. Here's an honest review. It's not a 5* player. For the price, it's about as good as I'd hoped for, and still gets a passing grade, but it's not perfect. Two chief complaints. First, the platter and controls are all just sort of "floating" in the base. This gives records an obvious wobble, and makes me question how long it will last. It "feels" cheap, and I'm certain the needles pressure is uneven at best. I expect some skips on less than pristine albums. Second, every review talking about "amazing sound quality" is either lying (I hope they got their free record!) or has never heard anything other than cell phone speakers and $3 earbuds. The sound quality is ok, but that's it. It's just...ok. Its actually almost "bad" at really low volumes, but smooths out some at the level most people will use it anyway. But here's the thing. This is an all-in-one turntable. By it's very nature it has to have little tiny speakers. You're only ever going to get "ok" sound out of those. And for what this player costs, that's fine. The sound quality is adequate for what I paid, but that's all. Negativity aside, there's some really good stuff here too. Appearance wise, it's honestly pretty nice looking! Bluetooth connection works just fine, connects effortlessly, and sounds just as good as records do. The dust cover can close while records are spinning, which isn't always true in these all-in-one players. The automatic stop at the end of an album is a feature I honestly wish my own (significantly more expensive) turntable had! Other positive bit: It has RCA out. This makes this player perfect for someone just getting started with vinyl albums. If you find it's not for you, you're only out a relatively small amount of money. If you find you like it, then you have an easy path to upgrade in steps rather than all at once. The RCA out let's you buy some nice external, powered speakers first, get a solid boost in sound quality, and then later replace the turntable itself for a higher-end one. Bottom line: I wouldn't risk expensive rare albums on this, and sound quality is just "eh, it's fine". But it's perfect for someone trying out vinyl, someone who doesn't need "amazing sound quality", and offers a clear upgrade path without ever needing to buy pieces you can't use until you've put the whole thing together. That's exactly what I was looking for, so despite the anger I have over being asked to sell my honesty and lie to you all, I'm still giving it 4 stars. ... show more

  • High level of audio output
Color: Wood Grain
I got this turntable as a surprise for my parents as my mom has a vast collection of vinyls and nothing to play them on. They were pretty surprised and excited about it. I really like the retro/vintage look of it, the ease to use it, how light it is and the volume level is fantastic! I have no need to attach any external speakers. But there is a downfall at least with the one that I received. Everytime we put on a vinyl it wobbles and therefore the songs are skewed, out of tune and played slow. We tried a few vinyls and all were the same. The 45s were a bit better due to size but the table is not stable. Upon investigation I realised that the entire mechanism is not firmly set in the housing unit. It has popped out a bit especially the side with the lever arm and needle. Therefore this is what is causing the vinyls/records to not play properly. I held down the more popped side with the lever to stabilise it and put on a vinyl to play and it worked much better then. But I cannot be expected to do this each and every time and to have to stand there whilst a vinyl is playing. I tried to figure out a solution but nothing has come to mind. It is a bit disappointing as I bought 2 turntables at the same time including this one and this one was preferred due to the volume level and look within the decor of the room. ... show more

  • Worth it’s price
Color: Wood Red
It’s a wonderful and affordable entry-level record player. IF YOU TAKE VINYLS VERY SERIOUSLY THIS IS NOT FOR YOU Suitcase players in general are very flimsy, and this is no exception. You have no access to the motor and no control over 33/45RPM. The plate sits on a very bouncy and flimsy platform, which caused some of my more expensive prints to skip and almost scratch. It is sufficient for older and most inexpensive records, and the option of using it as a bluetooth speaker for your phone is really interesting, but remember, if your records cost the same/more than your player, it is time to upgrade to a dedicated turntable ... show more

  • Great first turntable
Color: Wood Grain
This turntable has been a great one so far. My daughter has really enjoyed listening to her newly acquired vinyl collection. The sound is adequate for its size and it is a “vintage” turntable as on some of her albums that’s what the sound, sounds like. The price was a fair price as well. All in all this has been a good one for us and would recommend it to others. ... show more

  • Good For Beginners/Turntable Issues
Color: Wood Red
The media could not be loaded. Actual rating: 3.5 out of 5 - I returned my first purchase because the turntable wasn’t level, which was causing records to skip. At first I thought the record was just warped, but it I took the record off and let the turntable run by itself and I saw the issue was actually the turntable itself. Upon calling Amazon support, they told me that there’s no way to adjust this and I would need a replacement. The video I attached to this review shows that this turntable has the same issue, though it’s not as bad as the first one I had because the record doesn’t skip now. Since it technically works I don’t feel like returning this and trying my luck on another. For now, this gets the job done as an entry level record player, but I figured it was worth warning others of this potential issue (which I’ve now seen in some other reviews for this product after the fact). If you ignore the turntable level issue, it works really well for what you get. If you’re looking for quality, this isn’t the best, but you get what you pay for and I’m happy enough for now. ... show more
