If you’re not strong and can’t push in the foot rest then there might be a problem for you, I have to stand up and then back kick the foot rest to get it to close. But the comfort and the price of the chair makes up for it. It’s a beautiful chair and the material is so soft.

It is much prettier than in the pictures and videos in the description! Very luxurious look and feel, especially for the price. The first time I sat in it I knew it was exactly what I’d wanted. I spent more hours than I care to admit to over a 3-day period meticulously searching for the perfect recliner and I’m glad I went with this one. It has only one major drawback. Review after review warns the footrest won’t close without significant force. I can attest it simply cannot be pushed in by less than, from my experience, a defensive lineman or world heavyweight champion. I’m a shorter (5’3) middle-aged woman but would not consider myself weak. I cannot push it in and have to just try to get out of it with it as “down” as I can get it, then turn around and kick it to get it to latch. I don’t mean full-force impact kick, I mean I have to physically exert my foot into it to get it in! Just to see if it was as bad as I suspected —and hoping to loosen it some, as other reviews said might help—I used it as a leg press. It’s great for that! I’ve done four reps of ten today and still never managed to get it latched. It actually feels like maybe it has to go back too far into under the chair to catch. Bending my knees as far as I can, it’s still nowhere near. So, I only gave it 4 stars because it’s obviously an ongoing issue that’s been mentioned time after time and the product still hasn’t been improved. I could see this being a huge safety concern for elderly or physically limited especially since it’s a swivel chair. I highly recommend it for comfort—it’s probably the most comfortable I’ve purchased actually, and I really didn’t expect much from an online purchase that was so affordable. It’s good box furniture store quality. However, I WOULDN’T recommend if you have any mobility issue or frailness, especially for the elderly or someone living alone with a medical condition that makes you prone to falls. Maybe you could get out of it fine semi-reclined, but it’s also a fall risk as it’s a rocker-swivel that is impossible for middle-aged woman with no issues to push in to close. I hope it loosens some with use, and if it does I’ll update review. It might be something that regular use or WD-40 can fix, but if not, you should definitely know that before you purchase. I was prepared and knew I’d be able to get out of it to push it in standing, but if you think that’s an issue keep shopping! There’s definitely a design flaw going on somewhere!

The price. Wow. For a little more than $300 a great and comfortable recliner. Went to a local furniture store. Had the exact product number, they carried it out n their catalog. $875 plus tax and $100 delivery very. WTF. HA

This can be dangerous. I got for my son who is 5 foot 8.5.it is too short. His legs hang over. I tried to sit on and it is very hard to close for a senior. The leg rest flew up and knocked me over. They won't pay to pick I up from my house. I am old and don't have a truck! What to do! Big stupid hunk of money wasted!.

as far as look and being comfortable those things are perfect 2 things i personaly dont like are when opening it it slams open real hard dont know how many times it will take that and 2nd if you are a small person like my wife closing it is nearly impossible takes so much strength to close it

I love my recliner and It is so comfortable I want to fall asleep every time I sit in it. This recliner is worth every penny. I wouldn't say that it is an oversized chair. If you weigh over 250 lbs this chair may not be for you.
