The media could not be loaded. This really is my favorite VFL and fixes a lot of the annoyances I have had with other VFLs. First is most other VFL's work more like flashlights and when I need it, I find out I accidently turned it on and the battery is dead. It won't happen with this one first because is is a twist right to turn it on. Also no need to change batteries because it charges via usb-C--and it charges quickly. The other cool design feature is when you twist to turn it on it, opens the dust cover--no more loosing the dust covers! It is a great design. Also has an integrated flash light and battery indicators. The only annoyance item with this that I had was when I turned it on it was set to only blink and thought that was all it could do. Sometimes I like the VFL to be solid. Well if you use the flashlight button while the VFL is on, you can toggle between solid and blinking. The VFL is quite bright and seems to travel this distance it mentions. Overall a fantastic VFL and deserves to be in everyone's bag that does fiber work.

This is an easy to use item; you can see in my image the item attached to an LC-LC SMF cable and the light is very clearly visible. I am unable to test the full 15km claimed range, but this will be ideal for helping diagnose issues in the datacentre. I like the built in dust cover, and the option for flashing or static light. Battery life should be good, based on the rated battery size, but I've not had a chance to really test this. I am very happy to avoid looking at lasers with my phone camera to check end-to-end patching!

I have not been able to test this product as of yet. I got it, thinking it could become a spare for my fiber techs just crew but then learned that it was meant for for testing service drops / last legs to customer premise when my line of work is more the trunk, long distance feeds. The device seems like its well constructed and works as it should though so I imagine it works really well for the intended use case.

I work fiber optics constantly and to help validate signal channels when issues arise, I need to have VFLs handy. This has become my favorite VFL and works in the coolest way. The tip is initially retracted and turned off. To use this VFL, you twist the top and the tip exposes itself. At this point the laser automatically turns on as well. I mostly use LC so I have to use the adapter, but I wish for an LC version in the future! Honestly, the worst part about dealing with VFLs is that they suck a decent amount of power and can kill batteries quickly. This VFL actually has an internal battery and is my favorite part. I have only used this VFL on MM fiber so I haven't really tested it's power or brightness on long distance SM, but it has been bright enough for me to test every length MM cable I've come across so far. This should be a must have VFL in everyone's go bag!

This tester feels pretty sturdy, the twist on/off mechanism is nice compared to the previous style I had (switch down for flash, up for steady) as it was easy to leave that on. This one is basically impossible to accidentally turn on. I do wish they had included a case as you have to keep track of the ST to LC adapter so you don't lose it. Only other thought is with the aforementioned twist on/off switch, it feels mildly gritty. Like metal on metal, I think the machining tolerances were a bit too tight. Overall good tester though.
