Designed to quickly identify the direction of light being transmitted in the fiber and display the relative core power without damaging the fiber. Like the compact size, fits in your shirt pocket. Strong enough to push the laser through several bulkheads up 7 floors to locate the other end. Would recommend this product.

Really wanted to like the tool. Visuals are good and first couple of clicks were satisfying.. but after 10 or so uses first button started to shift and not work properly, then it started to drain batteries, then second button stopped working, and last it lost connection to battery housing. When a simple tool has 2 buttons ... and costs leg and arm, it suppose to work at least couple of year not just 20-30 uses. It is shame.. 25$ tool works 5th year, and ~179$ tool worked only 20-30 clicks. Fell for fancy looks. Good signal though... don't buy and don't suggest to anyone, not worth any money. Better stick with cheap visual fault locator and don't waste time, wallet and mental health over fancy looking joke of a tool ... show more

I had a cheap chinese unit, kept giving erratic readings. Decided to purchase the Jonard (much higher price), and I'm very happy with it. This is a case of you get what you paid for.
