Picked this up for tracing fiber breaks and checking continuity on jobsite runs, and it's held up well. The 30km range is more than enough for anything I've tested, even on longer spans the red laser is bright and easy to spot through the jacket on bend points or bad splices. The 2-in-1 design is the standout feature: having the built-in LED work light means I'm not fumbling for a separate flashlight when I'm working in a cabinet or crawlspace at night. Nice touch that saves a step. Build quality feels solid, not flimsy like some cheaper testers I've tried. The rechargeable battery holds a charge through a full day of use, and the output is stable, no flickering or dropout, which was an issue with an older unit I used to carry. Charging via USB is convenient too, no need to hunt down a proprietary cable or wall adapter. I compared it with another 30mW VFL tester, and this one appeared noticeably dimmer. It works in very short^ distances, but it struggles in brighter environments. I expected a strong red laser for identifying fiber faults, but the brightness does not match the advertised specifications.

I was expecting a smaller size based on the photos. It is definitely not to scale compared to the adapter it comes with. But it is bright! Definitely the brightest out of my arsenal of VFL lights which says a lot. The led light is also bright as well normally they are not useful but this one both are. Best perk about this is the USB C charging so no more trying to find replacement batteries and just about everyones phone is USB C now. Anyone buying this will not be disappointed with its performance. THe VFL flash rate is also quicker than most so you can use it with other VFLs to identify multiple strands quicker. Pros: Very bright USB C charging LED light also useful Rapid VFL flash Cons: Size might be a little larger than expected The ring could actually be a little larger too

The body looks acceptable, but the internal quality and small components do not seem durable. After limited use, I started experiencing problems with the switch and connection points. I expected better construction for a tool used in network maintenance.

I’ve used this a few times for checking fiber and it’s been a really handy little tool to have. The red laser is bright and makes it easy to quickly find breaks, bends, or other issues in the fiber. I also really like that it’s rechargeable, so I don’t have to keep spare batteries around. It’s small, easy to use, and does exactly what I needed it to do. The included adapter is a nice bonus too. For the price, I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone who works with fiber optic cables.

This is a really useful tool to have around if you work with fiber. It's compact, rechargeable, and much easier to carry around than adding another bulky piece of test equipment to your bag. The visual fault locator makes identifying problems and tracing fiber considerably easier, and I like having the LED light built into the same device. The included adapter is also a nice addition. For basic fiber troubleshooting and identifying faults, this is an inexpensive tool that is absolutely worth keeping in the toolkit.
