I mounted this storage box on the passenger side of the bed in a 2023 GMC 2500 Sierra HD. I did not set a stopwatch but I would bet it was less than 4 minutes to completely install and that included reading the instructions. Just your screw gun with a socket driver for tools is all that I used. Everything fit well and everything aligned as if GMC had made it. The included self drilling screws were of a noticeable high quality and quickly penetrated the side of the bed and drew snug commandingly. The storage is exactly what is needed in the bed of a truck. The overall design of the box in my opinion, is very well thought out with the addition of the storage tray and removal prevention lock for the hinge. The swing release handle (I’m making up the names here😀) works smooth and easy. It uses space that’s normally unused in a truck bed. The main flaw. The only flaw I can find is simple. Ordered both driver and passenger Swing Cases. Passenger side arrived in perfect condition. Driver side appeared ok until I open the case itself. Driver side Swing Case has a broken hinge so I’m unable to secure my belongings inside. Other than that, received products quickly and install was a breeze. ... show more

I’ve had this for 2 years come September. The concept is solid and a great idea. However, over not much time, the case sags and warps with minimal contents. I used this to hold an aluminum drop hitch, cargo net, recovery straps, and ratchet straps. I would expect it to hold a full set of tools and wrenches. The far corner away from the hinge sags and now the lid doesn’t close properly. This could have used a steel or aluminum internal structural frame. Perhaps with that it would prevent sagging. Also, as for fit in the placement, it could have recessed into the side of the bed another 6”+. If the mounting plate were Z patterned, it potentially could recess into the bed cavity behind the wheel well and be properly placed out of the way. This is the perfect accessory for that unusable space behind the wheel wells that often goes unused. I now store cleaning supplies, wax, small hand tools and retractable ratchet straps and safety equipment. They can also be easily removed without tools or removing the hardware, making this space available if required. I couldn’t be happier. Great engineering and very sturdy. This toolbox is awesome. It fit great in my Chevy 2500 short bed. It was easy to install and seems to be made of good quality. May seem a little small for some people, but it’s perfect for me.
