  • Excellent fit and function since early 2016!
Size: 5' Bed Pattern Name: TruXport
Looks very cool on the truck. It has held up to the sun, rain, hail, snow and settled dust. Ours is dirty but is easily cleaned with the simple soapy-brush option at car washes or a simple cleaning brush + garden hose + car soap. The option to roll it up is nice as opposed to a hard top cover because we haul items that will go over the top of the bed. We hauled a refrigerator with the cover rolled up against the bed serving also as a cushion for the cab. The cargo straps holding the fridge tight in place did not damage the rolled up cover. We also rolled up the cover to haul 4 tires, sized 245/75R16. The cover still has it's black color, no fading noted. Install was easily done with minor adjustments during install to get it aligned correctly to be effective against the elements. Well worth the effort to get it right. Simple tools and basic knowledge of mechanics and the ability to not torque so hard to possibly break the aluminum mounting parts. I hand-torqued it down enough to pull hard on it and not move. Has stayed in placed since early 2016. ... show more

  • Easy to install
Size: 6' 2" Bed Pattern Name: TruXport
My grandson and I did this in under an hour including removing the old tonneau cover, cleaning the rails and installing the new one. Great, quality product

  • Good looking and good solid fit
Size: 6' 2" Bed Pattern Name: TruXport
This cover is good looking and a good solid fit, the installation was a little challenge as we initially tried to line the cover up with the bed insert. Well the bed insert is at a bit of an angle so until we figured that out and then measured from the inside bed dimensions it was frustrating. Once we got things straight the installation went well. It took a couple days of being stretched before ALL of the wrinkles to disappear. Now it looks OEM! Added a cross bed bar so items can be placed a few feet in and not slide out of reach. Like the setup for now, well made and believe it will last quite a while. The Roll up option seemed better for me than the folds as it sits in a nice tight bundle once unrolled to the cab, perhaps less cumbersome than the fold type. I recommend this product. ... show more

  • Easy to install, seems rugged
Size: 5' Bed Pattern Name: TruXport
I bought this for my 2015 Tacoma double cab short bed. Nothing came broken thankfully. I read over the directions and it took me about 20 or so minutes to install. I was impressed how easy it was to install and how tight it fits over the bed. I washed my truck the next day and it seems decently water tight. I didn't expect it to be 100% water tight but I plan on using it to cover up my bass guitar cabinet and gear when I play gigs and I think this will do the trick. I may add my own additional weather stripping to the front where they give you weather strip to put down. That seems like the key place where it leaks. Pros: -Easy to install -Looks great -Adds protection against the elements -Supposedly improves gas mileage -Good value for the money Cons: -Not 100% water tight (But pretty good) -Not 100% theft proof -Plastic clips for when you roll it up don't seem like they will last but for so many years (replaceable with something similar) I'm happy with it thus far. Hopefully it'll last as long as a Toyota. ... show more

  • Glad I bought it but it's got a couple flaws.
Size: 6' 2" Bed Pattern Name: TruXport
I purchased this cover to cover my tools for an upcoming job in a big storm. I ordered it Tuesday from a non-prime vendor ( it was considerably cheaper than the prime vendors ) and I received it Friday morning. In a rush to install it before the job on Saturday, I was able to get it all bolted down in about a half hour. I avoided making the same mistake as other reviewers by reading a particular review about not clamping everything down until the end. I was able to adjust the cover so that the tail end doesn't have that 1" gap. Doing so, the front end barely touches the weatherstrip, leaving about a 1/2" overlap between the cover and the weatherstrip. Because of this, I get a very mild water leak at the front. It's not enough to worry about but I'd like to throw some RTV on the corners of the weatherstrip. At the tail end, there's a flap ( see photo ) that either sits inside the tailgate or outside, depending on how you close the top. I've tested the flap sitting inside and outside and neither configuration lets water in. Also, I received the top with a broken clip ( see photo ) and I immediately contacted the customer service number on the installation manual. They were able to ship me out a new clip within a few days. The clip was easily replaced by unbolting the mounts on one side. Some reviewers mentioned an improvement in fuel mileage and it's certainly true. I was averaging 19.0mpg before the top and I'm sitting closer to 20.5 mpg now. Overall, I was a bit hesitant to purchase a lower priced top but I'm glad I did as it's super convenient to be able to roll the top back for large items. With a tri-fold, I'd have to remove the entire thing. I'd recommend this for anyone who isn't willing to drop $800-$1000 on a tonneau cover. ... show more

  • Great cover, excellent price
Size: 6' 2" Bed Pattern Name: TruXport
I purchased the TruXedo 256801 TruXport Black Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover for my 2012 Tacoma Access Cab with a 6 foot bed. Installation was straight-forward, though I had some trouble interpreting one picture in the instructions. There are multiple youtube videos describing installation which cleared up my questions. It took about an hour all told. The bed rail clamps block the movement of the original cleats, but the cleats can be placed so they move between the bed rail clamps. That's worked perfectly for me, and there's no interference with the cover itself. There's been a bit of leaking through the front seals (corner, I think) during long drives in a heavy rain. Not much, but not bone dry. I was a little worried about the velcro closures on the sides, but they've been very secure. They also make it easy to adjust the cover as the temperature changes. I'm seeing a subtle improvment in gas mileage, on the order of 6-8%. That's a nice bonus. I'd buy the cover again in a heartbeat. ... show more
