Description

The BAKFlip MX4 was the first matte-finished, hard folding cover to market, becoming America’s 1 Selling Hard Folding Cover in just a few years. Simply put, the MX4 just looks better than other covers. Its sleek no-profile appearance allows you to maintain the appearance of your truck, while enabling you to securely stow cargo in the bed. The MX4’s pioneering, textured matte- finish adds a premium look and feel while also protecting against UV damage, annoying finger print marks, and scratches. MX4 has everything you expect from a premium cover. The engineers at BAK Industries fine-tuned even the smallest elements of the cover, down to adding cab corner caps and rail-end cap, to extending a matte-finish throughout the cover’s side rails, clamps, and elevator bolts. The MX4’s integrated buckle system and automatic latching mechanism allows you to drive with the cover partially or fully opened without covering the 3rd brake light. For 100% bed access, simply unlock the cover from either side via its pull latches and fold the cover all the way up against the cab. From there, you can prop the cover in place by tightening two rods into the underside of the panel. For enhanced durability, the MX4 also features pre-molded, shock-absorbent bumpers on either side of the panel, protecting the folded panels from hitting the cover during turbulent driving. Had a little trouble getting this one to lock as clamps didn’t hold the rails perfectly perpendicular but solved that by screwing them down in place. Nice cover! I prefer a manual rollup cover because I don’t lose bed space . The roll top can easily be removed for maximum bed space . It may not last forever , but I’m confident I’ll get my use out of it over the years.

Until they fix the issue the mx4 cover is not like it used to be the rail system is redesigned and it does not fit properly you have to take a pair of pliers at the end where it locks and bend it up it's a flaw design if I was you stay away from it bought one realizer was a problem call them they sent me another one same problem will not shut the rail is totally different then they sent me a ultraflex fourfold same problem it's all in the rail till they fix it don't buy it ... show more

This is a great looking cover and easy to install. I did a lot of research on many different brands offered on Amazon, some were cheaper and some more expensive. I decided to search for a quality cover (w/good reviews) around the mid-range price. I settled on the Bakflip MX4 and I'm very happy, so far. I really like the flush profile of the Bakflip cover and I preferred the matte vs. glossy finish. It looks really great on my black Frontier Pro4X Crew Cab. The installation was simple and smooth. I installed it alone and had the job completed in about 45 minutes. Most of the time was reading the instructions (which actually were very clear) just to make sure I was doing it right. The cover was extremely well packaged and all parts were individually packaged in sealed plastic bags. So while I have no negatives with my purchase, I did not give it 5 stars because of the following observation and thus offer some advice for future buyers. Specifically, I read in a previous buyer review that this specific cover was ordered and was too short for the Frontier's bed (reviewer also mentioned it was installed on an SV model). The reviewer further stated that after installation, there was a 1/2 inch gap (open space) between the closed cover and the closed tailgate. after some research, I determined that not all 2024 Frontier Crew Cab (short beds) are the same length. Specifically, the S, SV, and Hardbody bed length is 59.5 inches, while the Pro4X, Pro X, and SL bed length is 58.9 inches. While the Amazon site does state (as reflected in diagram of compatible bed length) that the model (448538) will fit on a bed length of 59.5 inches, I do not see how that is possible since my Pro 4X is 58.9 and I only have about .25 inch overlap of the closed cover (see images), over the tailgate when closed. This confirms why the reviewer stated that he had about a 1/2 inch gap between his closed cover and the closed tailgate. So beware, this model (448538) does not completely fit bed lengths more than 58.9 inches. I even reviewed the retailer website for Bakflip products and it also states that this model (448538) will fit a bed of 59.5 inches - believe me it won't fit! If you own a 2024 Frontier Hardbody, S, or SV model, be advised. If you own a Pro, Pro 4X, or SL, this is a great tonneau cover for your Frontier. ... show more

Don't waste your time and money on other covers. Just pony up the money and buy the bakflip. It's far superior to any other made, from ease of installation to function, this one is hands down the best! Took me 20 min to install by myself. Looks great, fits great, and opens all the way to the cab.

Looks great but it has leaked every time it rains or when I go through the car wash. Seems like there are several points of entry for water and I installed it exactly as it said to and actually this is the second one of these Ive had and the first one never leaked.
