This is my second BAKFLIP. I also have one on a 2010 Nissan Frontier. Working alone, it took me about 45 minutes or so to install. Once installed, it is very sturdy. In fact, I actually stand on mine to shoot photographs from my truck!

I had a Backflip revolver before. Thought I would try the panel style. Important to me was the fact this is fiberglass based, hoping that it will not be affected by hail compared to aluminum panels. Only issue I have is that in order to close the gate, you have to raise the last panel and then close after gate has been shut. I knew this before buying. This bed cover has rubber seals all of the way around and at every bend so you would think it would keep your stuff dry. It doesn't. In fact you can count on all of your belongings in the back to be soaked and water logged if it rains. And worse moldy if you don't check on it in time. For $1100 and several 5 star reviews I expected a lot better. I can see leaking once in a while if it is not latched properly, but this thing does not keep the water out at all. At best it only acts as a theft deterrent for what's inside. As a parent of 3 active kids we are constantly going to outdoor games and events. The chairs we keep in the truckbed are wet.... and that is unacceptable. It should keep things dry and puddle free. 2ndly the metal brackets have started rusting and leak rust from the top of the bracket on the tail gate down the tailgate to the bed causing a nice red residue all over the tailgate. Decent enough, would have thought seems/hardware would have been more robust for the price and name recognition. Definitely recommend you watch a YouTube video for install as the directions are worse than IKEA furniture, but super simple after that. Product arrived defective (see pictures) as it looks like during manufacturing they punched through the fiberglass top attached one of the latch fasteners. Again, good name brand, just about $400 more than the generic models. ... show more

Still a pretty good cover but as nice as they used to be. This one is my third. Side rails are now plastic instead of metal and everything else seems a bit flimsier than previous one. They did improve the attachment mechanism at the front of the bed. It is much easier to remove.

Leaking from more than two places upon receipt and installing. BAK warranty kicked and promised to ship 7/12, no news yet. I have adjusted my rating from one star to four, BAK - had stood behind their product with their warranty and offered me replacements. However, the replacement cover again also leaked from the middle of the hinges of the middle section, and that is just from the truck parked outside when it rained. ... show more
