*Update* Seller contacted me through Amazon and quickly sent a replacement light. Replacement light works great with no issues. These UV flashlights really do put out plenty of light and certainly enough to track down an AC leak (using UV Dye, of course). Good inexpensive DIY alternative... Just an FYI - Take the batteries out of the unit when storing as AA have a tendency to leak. Good hunting! This unit puts out a good amount UV light, particularly if you use it in dim to dark light, but right after the first use, it stopped working. I replaced the batteries. No good. Took the thing apart and cleaned all contacts. No good. Made sure all batteries (3x AA) were correctly oriented and the battery cassette was in the correct way. Nope, unit was dead. Too late to return so I threw it in the trash.

Works well. I used it to check my car’s AC for a leak. I also used it to look around the house to see what lit up. I don’t recommend doing that unless you are prepared to move, you won’t like what you find.

I used some UV coolant dye and this light to find a leak. Great for that. It's very powerful as well. This would not be good for things like scorpions as it kills the batteries if left in and off, and it killed 3 AA in minutes. Had to be careful w my last 3

Worked as advertised. I will say in sunlight use the glasses as it helps to show the leak. I used this to track down an AC leak on a R134 system.

You can see things in your carpet you really can't unsee. Not sure if it was the dog, cat, or teenager. None of them admitted to it, not sure if I WANT TO KNOW! Was also good at locating line leaks in my truck's air conditioner.
