Works much better and swag deeper than my manual swagger. It will make a nice round if I rotate the tool while expanding. I'm afraid of over-expand because I was using staybrite-8 so I did it slowly many times. If I were to blaze there wouldn't be any issue with over expansion. Glad I bought it

This swaging tool works very well and is a great value for the money . I have maybe 25 swages so far and all are perfect. Others have mentioned tubing splits I have not seen any of that with my tool. You must use soft copper or anneal the copper first and you must deburr the copper after cutting inside rough edge needs to be removed that may be the cause of some cracking issues for some users. Also add grease to the pin and inside collet before use. NOTE: One thing to mention is the collet sometimes does not want to release the pipe after expanding as it creates smaller flutes or tool marks in between the segments of the collet die. By releasing and rotating the pipe a few times during expansion you will make smaller flutes or tooling marks that can prevent the collet from releasing the pipe after a swage is completed. If your soldering hvac joints its kinda a pain since if you pump till it stops, the gap is too big for silver solder like staybrite8. If your brazing its fine. Took a couple scrap pieces to get a feel of how many pumps you need for a snug fit to be able to use solder. Works as good as the 400 dollar name brands. ... show more

what's not to like? One thing to remember when using a tool like this is that copper or any metal for that matter is more brittle when it is cold. So when using a tool that wants to expand metal like this you might want to warm it up a little with a torch before you do the expansion. And also you might want to do a little expansion and then rotate the tool about 45 degrees before you do the final expansion. This will help and insure that you don't create a crack in the copper line set. Just saying.... LOL.... ... show more

I was able to use it one time. It was fine. Carried it in the case to a job and when I opened it up and pulled it out it was leaking fluid and wouldn't work anymore. Not worth it.
