For my wife, the highlight is always the campfire, so I got these packets for her, as I remember doing something similar as a kid with garden hose and copper pipe. These packets made cooler colors (and avoided whatever fumes we inhaled as kids). The packets lasted much longer than I had expected, and produced some pretty wild colors. Our two young kids were completely enthralled, and stared at the fire for a good half hour. They sell the exact same packets at the campground for 3 bucks a pack, but you can get them here for less than half of that. ... show more

I had a little backyard party to kick off the Spring/Summer season and tried these. My guests were sitting around the fire pit enjoying themselves when I tossed two packs into the fire. Let's just say their conversations stopped as they were mesmerized by the display of colors coming out of an ordinary fire. The packs lasted about 20 minutes, 5 minutes less than the product claims. I'm not complaining at all. These are very cool. I won't use them when it's just me and my wife around the fire pit. But I'll continue to use them when I have company over. The price for a 30-pack is awesome, there are definitely several others in this price range that don't come with as much. I'm looking forward to using these on my upcoming camping trips. It's really easy to just toss into the fire (you don't need to open the pack). NOTE: These are not safe to use if you're going to be cooking hot dogs/hamburgers, roasting s'mores, etc. This really should be a last night around the fire sort of thing ... show more

Compared side-by-side to other ones like this showed these to be more vibrant and bright. They ignite quicker which does slightly shorten the burn time but the colors stay the same throughout. We'll definitely be getting more of these.
