Mississippi State Bulldogs, this one's for you! It's the perfect maroon. For those who want more clarification on the color, it's a deep almost plum purple with a hint of red. This carry on bag DOES come with a cupholder, so added bonus! The lock is simple and effective. The suitcase has a 10 year warranty and the weekender bag has a 5 year warranty. Keep in mind this will only cover manufacturer defects like zippers, stitching, etc, it will not cover normal wear and tear. You get an expansion zipper so you can fit all of the random things you bought on your trip that you had no business buying. Nice organization: divider with zipper on one side, elastic bands on the other side so you don't have stuff tumble out when you open the bag. I got the set on sale for $140 so it was worth the experiment for me to see if it lasts! One thing I appreciate is that the wheels also have maroon on them which only a girl would care about, but it's a nice touch. The wheels roll effortlessly so I'm excited to take it through the airport. I have no doubt they'll handle sidewalks, parking lots, and TSA just fine. The weekender bag has a lot of pockets and I appreciate the clamshell design so you don't have to fight trying to get stuff out of the main pocket with one hand. The bottom compartment can fit 4 pairs of chacos or 2 pairs of ladies tennis shoes for reference measurements haha. One thing I would say, I really wouldn't trust this bag to be checked. I only got it with the intention of using it as a carry on (which is what it's advertised as) so for that reason I'm keeping it as 5 stars. If I had one thing I wish it had it would be a side handle, but that's not a make or break. Technically they make you put your bag in the overhead bin with the handle it does have facing out so not a huge issue. I'm taking it on a cross country trip with one layover on each direction, so I'll come back and update you all on how it handled a full day of travel!

First off, I read other reviews about this bag missing the cup holder - it's important to READ the description closely before ordering. The detail page clearly states the cup holder is only on the small bag (carry-on), not on the medium or large size. The tag that comes with the luggage says the exact same thing, I'm uploading a photo of it. On a check-in bag you rarely need a cup holder anyway, as you check it in as soon as you get to the airport. It'd also be another thing to break when handled by the airport employees. This is an absolutely beautiful bag. I have always used the 28-29" sized luggage bags for check-ins, but on my last trip to Europe I realized just how big and clumpsy it was to move around. So when one of the wheels broke on my then American Tourister Bon Air Spinner and I went looking for a new bag, I decided to go with this Swiss Gear in the 23" size instead. I LOVE the looks on this one, which was one of the main pros for me, it also comes in awesome colors that will be very visible at the baggage claim. And yes, even if it's significantly smaller than my previous 28" and I won't fit nearly as much in it, it will be so much easier to store, roll around, fit on the train, in the car, the taxi etc - just easier to travel with in general. I just have to learn to not bring as many gifts to my family. This Swiss Gear is expandable, something my previous bag wasn't, so that will help as well. It is extremely light weight! It rolls like a dream even when packaged with 45lb of stuff, much better than than my American Tourister. Same goes for the zippers, they're smooth like butter! The handle and "button" are also better than what I'm used to on previous luggage, there are no "hiccups", it's smooth, stable and very exact in its locking mechanism. No way to know how long it'll be this great, but for now I'm super happy with it. The only thing I'm missing are a couple of zippered pockets on the interior zippered "lid" between the two compartments. I had that on my previous bag and it was so convenient for smaller, flatter items. It's a minor thing so it won't affect the rating, this is definitely a 5 star luggage - and the price range is great too.

I absolutely adore the color wave of this suitcase and I will admit that it was the driving force behind my purchase (on top of Swissgear’s pretty reliable reputation over the years). The color matches exactly how it looks online! The outside feels very sturdy, exactly what I would expect of a hard shell case. I can’t say that it’s scratch resistant at current. It actually feels like it would easily scratch, which is something I’m worried about as I will traveling quite a bit this year. The cup holder has SUCH a smooth design; it’s very easy to open and tuck back in. It has a LOT of interior space on the inside, almost annoyingly so? I do wish that they would have added maybe another pocket somewhere in there - there is plenty of room to do so but I suppose they want you to buy your own organizers for that. Honestly for the price, I think it actually SHOULD come with one cube organizer for accessories or something - but that’s a nitpick. One of the main reasons I wanted this suitcase was for the locking system, which was easy and painless to set up honestly! It has the TSA key grade to unlock it so you don’t have to worry about TSA bursting and breaking your stuff if they need to get inside. This also helps if you end up forgetting your lock number or the manual unlocking system gets jammed. I got it on what I assume is a Memorial Day sale so the price wasn’t that bad! Regardless, the quality of this brand is undeniable in my opinion. Oh, another thing I hard don’t really like is the interior belt that’s supposed to keep your items in place during travel. The locking mechanism seems flimsy and is made of what feels like cheap plastic. I get the impression I may have to end up sewing something sturdier in its stead later but we shall see. When I was researching the quality of the suitcases, I saw a lot of complaints about the rubber on the wheels deteriorating within the year of purchase. Most of these people, if not all?, said that they only traveled maybe once or twice a year and that their suitcase was in storage most of the time. Please make sure yall understand how rubber works when improperly stored. That’s all I can say. I’ll update this review at the end of the year OR after 10 trips! Safe travels!

I have had the 19" carry-on suitcase since 2022. This bag has been abroad and back many times, as well as several US destinations, and has never disappointed me. This brand was recommended to me by a United flight attendant, so I felt the recommendation was credible. I love it and will buy this same suitcase again if ever needed. I pack a full bag, and the zippers have never failed! I only carry on my luggage, never check a bag, so I cannot speak to how it would survive baggage claims. My son has the same brand; he has checked his larger one a couple of times without issue; however, I believe all luggage is at the mercy of bag handlers, and I am not sure they are all that careful when time is of the essence for them. I have not had any issues, even when expanded as a carry-on bag. I have found it to be very durable, well-made, and a great purchase for the price! The only negative I have found is that it is sometimes hard to roll when my backpack is slid onto the handle. I think it is a weight issue more than anything. If I wear my backpack I do not have any issues rolling this bag.

I purchased this luggage for a recent trip and came away very impressed. The suitcase feels sturdy and well-built, yet remains lightweight and easy to maneuver. The spinner wheels roll smoothly, making it effortless to navigate through airports, hotels, and busy terminals. The telescoping handle extends to a nice height, though it becomes a bit wobbly when fully extended. The expandable feature provides extra packing space when needed without making the suitcase feel bulky. The interior is thoughtfully designed, with plenty of room and useful compartments to keep everything organized. The hardside shell also gave me confidence that my belongings would be well protected during travel. This luggage case made it on a 2-week trip to Japan with absolutely 0 issue--until the last airport. The color was exactly what I was hoping for! It showed some wear and marks, but it's light lavender so that was to be expected. It held everything I needed and all of the souvenirs I didn't! It kept everything dry, no cracks or tears, the zipper held fast, the lock worked like a charm, and the wheels carried that baby for MILES through city streets! The subway and train gaps were no problem! The handle expanded and locked with ease! But one of the wheels was ripped off (entirely, not even a screw was left) when it came down the luggage chute at my home airport. My heart was broken, and neither the airport nor SwissGear offered replacement. And believe me, I asked. I loved this luggage, and I wish it had lasted longer. Rest in Peace Big Purple, you will be missed.
