A couple of tips...first don't use sand use black abrasive material avail at TSC. ITS LESS LIKELY TO CLOG keep the sand inlet on top always. 100 lbs of abrasives did 2 farm tractor rims and a center casting.

Absolutely love this thing! Super cheap and it's not for a full time operation but as far farm job stuff here and there it's totally worth the money. Blasted my boat trailer frame for about 20$ worth of play sand so has already paid for it's self. Key notes others have also stated 1- must be quality play sand with the fine particles not the tube stuff. 2- has to be dry so you need to check the bags at the store, most are stored outside at some point and get wet. 3- when you start the blast you have to slowly lower the pickup tube while running it to get a steady flow going. 4- you have to keep the sand inlet portion of the spray novel vertical at all times to avoid water getting into it. So not ideal for crazy angles. Once you figure it out works amazingly for the price and honestly I don't think you could even buy the materials for this super simple design for close to what this costs to make yourself. Highly recommend.

I was surprised how heavy and thick the brass is very good quality only problem I had with it is, it go's through a ton of sand quickly so buy a few more bags of play sand than you think you need just find a way to dry the play sand it comes wet i put the sand on a cooking sheet and put in my grill at 400 plus degrees for well over an hour this is awesome there is no dust also my harley frame i blasted flash rusted very quickly so after it dryed i used my disk grinder with a wire wheel and went quickly over it to finish it Also my pressure washer would not hook to this without this adapter i just happened to have and yes the suction hose did clog a few times sand needs to be very dry cover the sand with somthing

It goes through a lot of sand but with two people one moving the sand collector around and one spraying it works super fast. This was just one pass on these wheels that are awful and it cleaned em right up. I ran out of sand. Only had a little pecan shell soooo tomorrow i will get a couple bags of play sand and get to it. Great product. I recommend it for little projects

My 2700 psi power washer could not pull sand through the hose. No it wasn’t clogged. It just doesn’t work.
I have a 1700psi power washer. this is not enough to remove any significant rust. It will however remove paint to some degree. It might do well with a much higher pressure unit.

People that complain about water in the tube should read the instructions. The pickup hose has to be above the water nozzle. Otherwise gravity will work. I have cleaned the frame and engine compartment of a 1988 bronco 2 without any problems. Combined with a heated pressure washer, it was quick work.
