I bought this to clear out my downspout lines underground. Product works well it jetted out my 4in line really well. Only problem I had was that the gauge of the hose is a little thin, I had a problem with the hose kinking. But other than the kinked hose this product worked well!

It works exactly as advertised and includes everything you need (except for the pressure washer of course). I was kinda sceptical about how much the rear facing jets would propel the hose down the pipe, but they really do. When you're in a nice straight section, you just slowly feed the hose down and let it do the work for you. You do have to wiggle it around a bit to get around corners and such. A variety of tips is nice, and even the little things, like the included wrenches ("spanners") are a nice touch. I personally didn't use the pins at all (didn't need to), but I understand how it would be handy that they were included in the kit. The thread tape was pretty cheap and didn't work great, but I still used it and it did work well enough. All around, a great buy, especially since we were quoted $800-1200 to have a local company hydro jet our drains for us. I should note that we had a grease clog that we had to hire the local company to snake out. ($225 btw) They ran a camera afterwards to show that the line was open, but still had grease stuck around the perimeter, reducing the diameter of the pipe. This meant it would be easier to clog again in the future, and that technically the flow was somewhat restricted (though not enough to impact us currently). They told us they would put the money we spent on the snake job towards the jetting total. Still, this jetter was a far more economical option, and was super easy to use. Since we had flowing drains when I used this, I can't speak to its clog clearing abilities. I would hesitate to break it out if I needed to clear a clog, only because adding more water to a drain that isn't flowing will temporarily make any backup worse. I feel like the ideal use would be snaking the line to restore flow and then jetting the line to clean it, but that's just a non-plumber's point of view. In hindsight, I wish I had just rented a long snake from one of the big box stores and then bought this. Live and learn, I guess. I'm tempted to rent a sewer scope to take a video of the drains now to see how clean they are, but haven't done it yet. If I end up doing it I'll update my review to add the video. ... show more

BACKGROUND House is 30 years old, and I am the fourth owner. The kitchen and laundry room share a two inch drain line before heading to the main four inch line that dumps to a septic tank. After living here for about ten years, I had to snake annually the past two years. The laundry line as it was blocked downstream of the kitchen line merging with the laundry room line. Each time, my 1/2 inch snake was coated with a heavy, white grease-like substance. This year, the kitchen portion of the line was packed with a near-cement like, white substance which i eventually snaked through. However, it reclogged again within months. Enter this jetter. I employed my three teenagers to help me. I eliminated the hose kinking problem by snaking a pull rope from three clean outs. I threaded the rope (1/16 inch nylon) through a spare clean out cap that I drill a small hole in. This allowed me to cap the clean out and minimize the chances of water exiting the open clean out. My son was outside with the gas-powered, 2400 psi, 2 gpm pressure washer and the jetter hose, which had been straighten out in the sun to eliminate kinks. The jetter was fed into the main as it enters the septic tank with a pull rope attached. (Pull rope was threaded from clean out to septic tank with the snake.) It took a while the break up clog… the chunks were the size of my fist and I’m a big dude. The forward feeding jet (center hole and side jets for forward propulsion) and the rope allowed my to break up the chunks. Upon reaching each cleanout, I could change to the spinning jet which makes a cool whizzing noise…. The whizzed was fabulous at breaking up the chunks. It took four hours to make multiple passes through all three sections of the line totaling nearly 50 feet in length. ... show more

This is a mid-weight pressure washer hose with various tips included. The tips and hose themselves are decent enough quality. That's why I'm giving it one star instead of (if possible) ZERO. The problem is that the hose is so rigid, it will NOT flex through the toilet as the picture shows. This will NOT flex through a sink trap as the pictures shows. The first 4" of hose on each end are not flexible at all. I have old cast iron septic pipes, and I thought this would be a great and easy way to maintain my pipes. What a horrible nightmare this hose caused me. After it wouldn't thread through the drains, I thought that I would try the crawlspace. I opened up one of the 4" main lines and started threading it through. I got about 30" in and there was a 90º elbow. The tip of the hose got jammed and wouldn't come out. I ended up having to cut the pipe to free the hose and replace it with PVC. In the end, I have 17 hours into the repair and about $100.00 in materials. If I had to call a plumber for this, it would have ended up costing over $2,000.00 This product may work well for one purpose: to clean out the sewer main from your home to a municipal sewer or to your septic tank. It might do well for straight runs of pipe, but don't be fooled into thinking that this hose is going to behave like a plumbing snake. I wish that I could get my money back or sue the company for false advertising. If you have a straight run of pipe, it might work. If not, don't risk the nightmare that this caused me. ... show more
