  • A solidly functioning tablet
I got my tablet and quickly discovered that the micro usb port would not read anything that was plugged into it. I returned it and got my replace within 36 hours. GREAT service Amazon! I held onto the original one while I tested the new one VERY heavy. I did not want to have one worse then I had. After a week of intense testing I found the new one has no hardware issues at all. While this little system can handle up to 3 tasks well as so as I go to 4th task it really starts to slow down. I found the USB hub with the Ethernet connect an absolute MUST HAVE with this tablet. This wifi card is very weak. It could not read my wifi from 3 feet away. I LOVE that this device has a 12v power plug. This means as long as it is plugged in, it keeps going. (unlike my Asus T100) giving me much more use from this device. I like that it will fit into my clipboard for work use (without the keyboard). I find the size nice for document reading. The video is nice for casual short viewing. The speakers though sound way too poor quality too tinny. I bought a USB powered speaker system for more sound needy vids (which adds a backpack to the carrying). A big minus. All in all i like my RCA even with the features I find lacking for my needs. The biggest thorn to this item is the lack of documentation about it, the lack of supporting accessories (cases etc) and the lack of expansion ability. ... show more

  • Profiteering against this product by its own team working on it. Profiteering against this product by its own team working on it.
This product is absolute torture to use. I spent more then 20 hours trying to get it ready to use. It needed to go through a full restore on first use. It will not stop lagging as if there is a competition team working on this product making sure it will never work other ways then what win their competition, like the touch screen features will not work right as a competition with the keyboard and mouse pad that will not work right. I can not rely on this for anything. This thing is only good for going through the most massive torture by such a platform or target shooting. There is clearly a massive amount of the processor lower being used against my will and the presentation by the platform of what it should be used for. It likes to lag on mouse click. It is not as good as old 486s. The apps list accessed by using the windows key will not work. I updated as part of the first use and one of the updates will not properly download and install. Today it started no longer showing the onscreen volume adjustment display as operated by the keyboard. Facebook behaves as if it is specifically nearly disabled on this worse experience with a windows machine of my life. It is especially good at refusing input if my peripherals so it does things I do not want it too. It ignores input of my mouse use, and screen taps so often it is nearly failing to work when clicked or tapped more then 50 percent of the time. It shows that the taps and clicks have happened like what is being clicked on changing visually and then refuses to behave like it happened. It will not take input like navigating to one thing on a webpage and then something else right after that before the navigation happens, although showing the input was recognized by the interface, like the last thing tapped it clicked is highlight with changed colors. It will not let me setup my email as there is some kind of error as if it is refusing to work with Google as best it can. It behaves as if all processing is taking place remotely and I am just using it to visualize it part of the time. ... show more

  • Amazing performer!
This 2-in-one is remarkable. It is dramatically faster than the 8-year-old laptop it replaced. It even has micro HDMI output which I used with a 20-foot cable so I could make a presentation while sitting with the audience. The detachable keyboard snaps on easily; the magnets are so powerful that the connection aligns itself every time. That makes it easy to put the tablet (without keyboard) on a podium for my speaker notes. The swing-out stand makes a perfect angle and is so much simpler than other propping mechanisms. The automated setup process makes starting up very easy. This tablet performs professionally for all of my needs -- except one. SADLY the tablet did not charge through the microUSB port as I was twice promised before purchasing. I want to be able to work in the field at least 10 hours off an external power pack (which I already own). Tech support promised to fix that, but the tablet came back with a new serial number unfixed. A REPLACEMENT refurbished tablet also failed to charge in this way. Fortunately the SELLER is very conscientious and promptly gave me a full refund. -- ADDENDUM: I bought two batteries for my old laptop and am happy using it. However, I am now seeing external battery packs designed to charge laptops through their round AC adapter ports. If that is compatible with this RCA tablet, I will seriously consider buying it again. ONE REQUEST: the detachable keyboard was slightly warped so the ends stayed up off the desk. That caused very annoying rocking of the keyboard. If it had been warped the other way the ends would have held it still and there would have been no problem in the middle because the keyboard was very rigid--it just contacted the desk in the wrong place. -- SUMMARY: Although I lost many hours trying to fix the charging, I have good memories of this tablet. It is quite remarkable. ... show more

  • Good low-end tablet/laptop for the money
OK, it's low end. Don't compare it with the $1200 SurfacePros because it's not meant to be that, but overall this a very good little tablet/laptop if you are doing casual work or surfing. The HUGE complaint I have is that the speaker(s) are poor. It is advertised as having 2 Realtek stereo speakers, but only the right speaker works, and the sound is fairly weak. My Samsung cell phone has MUCH more volume, clarity and depth in it's speaker. I sent it back thinking it was defective, but the replacement was exactly the same. I kept it this last time and will try downloading different drivers to see if it makes a difference but the sound is a disappointment. There are speaker holes on each side of the display, so one would assume that there are two speakers, but apparently RCA only put in one speaker on the right side, which is a bit idiotic. Headphones work great on this unit, so if you are planning on just using headphones, then definitely, this is an excellent low-end product and will be a great value for the money. ... show more

  • Great for light surfing-not for multi-tasking
I really liked the price of this. And I’m glad I purchased. But I didn’t know I was going to have to teach online with it. Only 1 USB port, but supports a hub with no problem. I often have to restart the computer a few times a day. The speaker is terrible, but it is Bluetooth compatible. I wish I could upgrade the RAM, but you can’t. The keyboard snaps on with a string magnet. The tablet itself is very heavy and not responsive due to the RAM issues. But having a windows tablet is a great concept. If you need multiple windows open at a time, I do not recommend this. If you can be patient and just want to surf the net or use Office 365, it works great. Trying to Zoom and keeping 3 screens open has proven very challenging on this device. ... show more

  • So much better than expected
This is a great value. I know it's not super fast, but it is Windows 10 Home, 64 bit. Other review say its 32 bit, but mine is 64 bit as confirmed in system setup. 2GB Ram is adequate. It's not upgradable, and the processor is a Celeron 1.1 Ghz. I bought it to replace my Surface RT, and this is better and more powerful than it was. I know you can more and get more speed, but I just want to browse the internet from my recliner and use apps from the Google store that the Surface RT could not run. For about 100 dollars you can't go wrong. The keyboard is better than expected, although I won't use it much. So far so good, I'll update if the appeal of the laptop/tablet changes. ... show more

  • Resistive touchscreen overlay membrane horrible. Display Excellent. Computer so choppy is unusable.
THE GOOD: The image quality of the display is remarkable, for resolution, brightness, color saturation. Very unexpected at this price. THE BAD: 1) The touchscreen appears to be a resistive membrane overlaid upon the glass/plastic, as opposed to a capacitive screen like today's smartphones and every other tablet I've ever encountered. It is very unresponsive and difficult to use. It doesn't have the resolution (the touch resolution, not the display resolution) to click on smaller items on the screen, like closing or minimizing windows. I bought this device simply to drag faders up and down on-screen in a remote app for a digital audio mixing console. It couldn't reliably even do that. I kept having to repeatedly grab and hold the faders with my finger and drag before it would eventually respond. Even after running the Windows touchscreen calibration utility where you click all of the crosshairs on the screen, it was still way off near the edges of the screen. 2) The computer is unusably choppy. I couldn't even scroll up and down through a black & white PDF owner's manual, for example, without a ton of choppiness. Same with most web pages I tried. NOTE that I had these problems even AFTER completing all updates. So, the choppiness wasn't because of a bunch of updates installing and downloading in the background. 4) The device is very thick, not at all tablet-like, and made of plastic. And, the screen is not centered- when in horizontal mode (i.e with the keyboard attached), the screen is off to the right and not centered. That is just a cosmetic detail, but looks lousy. 5) The resistive touchscreen membrane detached in the upper right corner of the unit when I pulled the tab to remove the clear protective screen cover as intended. The touchscreen membrane came along with it when I removed it. Poor quality. Not recommended, even at the price. ... show more

  • Great Machine for what its worth Great Machine for what its worth
Great computer will handle anything you throw at it so long as its a simple task, office, ftp, email, word, excel, nes ,snes emulation clean image full version of windows 64bit 1.1ghz 2gb ram , was able to run gimp and portable apps without issue, i don't think there is an accessible BIOS but don't brick it after updating you'll have a folder called windows old that will take up 20gb you can delete that through disk cleanup . Over all for the price its the best bang for your buck battery is decent enough my kids are playing robolox on it right now A single usb 3.0 port you could use a hub personally ihave a keyboard with a 2port hub built into it works good i only have a mouse added with keyboard also installed a 32gb sd card for added storage but for what I'm using it for i think that's plenty Great machine for what it's worth if your looking portable cheap and basic task this thing is a must, i would buy again ... show more
