    • Rattles... A LOT

Works fine for my daughter, but very noisy to ride. Rattles a lot (the various aluminum folding components) when riding. Nothing that can be tightened by me is loose, it is just built that way. Makes for a slightly unpleasant experience as it is harder to hear cars and to have a conversation with her. Our neighbor has a non-folding scooter of a different brand and it is completely quiet. Considering how small a scooter is, I would suggest people getting a non-folding scooter unless they really need a folding one as it will probably be more quiet. Also, my parents have an old Razor scooter they grabbed at a Tag sale years ago and it seems to be built A LOT more solidly. That said, theirs is a "Razor Extreme," so not a good direct comparison to this one, probably. The aluminum on that one is substantially (5x or more, I would say just by looking) thicker than that on this scooter and, even though it is folding, does not rattle like this newer one. The underside of this it sort of a hollow aluminum box and that one is open (not a box) with vertical support braces (perpendicular to the foot platform piece). All is thick aluminum. This scooter works fine and seems to be plenty solid for my young daughter, but the very loud rattling on even slightly bumpy streets is a big turn-off for me (and even to her -- she was really looking forward to having a two-wheeled scooter after outgrowing her 3-wheeled scooter's weight limit of 45lbs -- and this rattling is making things less fun for her). ... show more

Got this for my grandson's 5th birthday--he LOVES it. I bought a less-expensive version (A1) for his 7-year-old brother a couple of years ago, and the older brother remarked that his little brother's Razor is "cooler" than his is. The wheels seem to be better designed, and he is especially impressed with the "wheelie bar" (his term) on the back wheel. The A1 doesn't seem to be available any longer, but I think this version is slightly superior, anyway. ... show more
