I was incredibly skeptical about these glasses, but after real world testing for 6 months, they are legit. The high quality camera give you hands free video and pictures (no need to waste time pulling out a phone and potential missing a moment) and they double as earbuds, letting you listen to music and still having your ears open for conversation. These glasses also integrate AI, so no more google searching. Just say “hey meta” and any question goes answered. My favorite and most used is “hey meta, what time is it?” Lol

Great product takes nice pictures and videos with your hands free, answers calls, hears your music, and talks with IA in one gadget. Looks and feel like a traditional glasses including UV protection, in my case are transition glasses so I can use them in a sunny day and closed venue with comfort.

Reviewing after two weeks of use: Overall, my experience with the Ray-Ban Meta glasses has been positive, but I want to start with the negatives because I think it can really help people choose the right lenses. Do not buy the transition lenses if your main use is as sunglasses. Unless most of your use is indoors, I would not recommend them. The only way these lenses seem to reach a truly dark level, close to category 3, is if you are walking around while basically staring directly at the Sun the whole time. If you wear a hat, walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon, or if the sun is still bright but not hitting the lenses directly, they usually only get to something like category 1 or 2, if that. In real daily use, they are just not dark enough to be effective sunglasses. I honestly wish I had chosen a different lens option. Another big downside is that it does not seem possible to buy original Ray-Ban replacement lenses on Amazon. Most of the available replacement lenses are from unknown brands with very low ratings, which makes replacing the lenses more annoying than it should be. The camera quality is very good for both video and photos. Just do not expect to zoom into photos and still have them stay sharp. They are good for casual use, not for replacing a real camera. The biggest surprise for me was actually the speakers. They are very comfortable because nothing goes inside your ears, and the sound quality is surprisingly good. Overall, I would give the glasses themselves an 8/10, because I think the technology is good but the price is still higher than what the product truly offers. For the transition lenses, I would give them 4/10. They are useful in some situations, but if you need real sunglasses, they are not the right choice.

I bought the Meta Ray-Ban (2nd Generation) smart glasses with Transition lenses and ended up pretty disappointed with the overall quality. For the price — around $500 — I honestly expected much more. The only real strong point is the video quality in good lighting. In bright daylight, videos look sharp and clean. Photos also look great when lighting is ideal. However, as soon as the light drops even slightly, the video quality becomes very poor — it feels like something recorded on an old phone from the early 2000s. I did enjoy the built-in speakers — it’s convenient to walk around listening to music or taking calls without earbuds. That’s a nice feature. But the Transition lenses are very weak in real sunlight — the darkening effect is minimal and doesn’t really provide proper sun protection. The build quality is also disappointing. The glossy coating scratches extremely easily. When folded, the arms touch each other, and my glasses started getting scratched within just two weeks of normal use. Battery life is another big downside. When recording video — especially in 3K — the battery drains very fast. I constantly have to put them back into the case to recharge, which is very inconvenient when you spend a lot of time outdoors. The built-in AI feature feels completely useless to me — it doesn’t add any real value to daily use and seems like an unnecessary gimmick. Also, the lack of a pause function when recording video is very frustrating. If you need to stop for a moment, you have to end the recording completely and start a new clip. Later, when the videos sync to the phone, all those small clips have to be found and manually stitched together — and sometimes they don’t even upload in the correct order, which only adds more hassle. Overall, I’d rate these glasses a 3 out of 5. The idea is great, but for such a high price the quality, durability, battery life, lens performance, and software features should be significantly better.

A Genuine Game-Changer for Manufacturing Management These glasses have been nothing short of life-altering for my career. As a production manager overseeing a manufacturing facility, documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) has always been a significant hurdle. My primary goal in purchasing these was to record high-quality POV video of processes, which I can then feed into AI tools to generate written SOPs. This isn’t just a win for my productivity; it’s a win for my crew, as it finally provides them with the clear documentation they need to succeed, relieving me of the stress that comes with inconsistent training materials. **Design & Comfort** I initially opted for the larger frame, but the height was a bit much aesthetically for my face. The standard size, however, is excellent. I have a history of headaches from standard eyewear after long days, but these remain comfortable for extended wear. They are impressively discreet—I had multiple people compliment them on day one without ever realizing they were smart glasses. They are convincing enough to pass as normal eyewear to the untrained eye. **Performance & Battery** * **Video & Audio:** The video quality is surprisingly clear, and the microphone performance is exceptional. I’ve taken several calls while wearing them, and the recipients couldn’t tell the difference between these and my phone’s handset. The audio is solid—provided you keep your expectations realistic regarding the low end. The bass is sufficient for daily listening. * **Battery:** This is the one area that requires adjustment. You’ll get about 30+ minutes of continuous recording, which drains the battery quickly. However, the charging speed via the included case is remarkably fast, which helps mitigate the downtime. **The "Unexpected" Features** While I bought these for SOP documentation, the note-taking and translator features have been revelations. On the production floor, I’m constantly pulled in four different directions. When I need to track material requests or quick process changes on the fly, these allow me to capture information immediately so nothing slips through the cracks. It has turned a single-use tool into an all-day essential. **Verdict** I am currently investigating sourcing safety-rated lenses to integrate these into my daily shop-floor workflow. While the frames themselves aren't officially safety-rated, for office-based procedures and light floor work, they have already become a staple of my daily routine. Between the hands-free note-taking, clear communication, and the efficiency they bring to training, these are an incredible value for anyone in a management or technical role. **Pros:** * Excellent microphone and video clarity. * Inconspicuous, stylish design. * Invaluable for hands-free documentation and note-taking. * Fast-charging case. **Cons:** * Battery life is limited during heavy recording sessions. * Frame is not officially rated for high-impact industrial safety environments.

I bought these Meta glasses mainly for creating videos on the go, and they have been incredibly convenient. I love being able to capture hands-free footage while driving, shopping, traveling, or filming product content without constantly setting up my phone and tripod. The video quality is surprisingly good, especially in bright daylight or well-lit environments. I’m still exploring all of the features, but for content creation alone they have been worth it. The only downsides I’ve noticed are the battery life, which lasts only a few hours before needing a recharge, and the fact that some features show as unavailable even though I’m located in Texas. I’m not sure if that’s a software issue or a regional restriction. That said, the charging case makes recharging simple and convenient. I just place the glasses back in the case and they’re ready to go again. If you’re looking for an easy way to create POV content without carrying extra equipment, these glasses are a great option. Just keep in mind that, like most cameras, the better the lighting, the better the video quality will be.
