I read all the reviews about these chairs being difficult to assemble, but as they suited my needs I decided to take a chance and order them. One of the primary complaints in other reviews is that the instructions are unclear. I didn't find that to be the case, but what I did find is that the instructions are WRONG! The instructions advise you use the long screws (part #1) in steps one and two, when in actuality, you should use the short screws (part #2) in steps one and two. Then, in step four, use the long screws (part #1) to attach the backrest of the chair. See attached photos. With the exception of this error on the instructions, the chairs are quite easy to assemble. They are also very nice, and seem sturdy. I do not yet know how they will hold up with use, but time will tell. I will say, they are a tad darker than they appeared in the pictures, but they are still close enough to my dining set to work for me. I am using these chairs as additional seating at my small dining table, for when I have company. I selected them because they are small enough that I can still push my table close to the wall, when they are not needed. Cool chair but came with a fat scratch on the back of it. I would return it for another but that would take two hours out of my day just driving it to return it and then having to wait another couple of days for a different one.

I am very handy and have built/assembled tons of furniture, and I literally can't figure out this chair. It seems that maybe they didn't pre-drill a necessary hole, or maybe they drilled the holes in the wrong spot, but I'm absolutely stumped. The directions are some of the worst I've ever seen. They don't have nearly enough detail for you to tell which piece goes where, so it took me forever and a lot of trial and error to even get the place where I am now.
