That kind of service is rare these days and especially important when dealing with medical equipment that you rely on daily. I’ve learned the hard way that not all wheelchairs are created equal. In the past, I purchased a wheelchair from Amazon for around $600, and it was a complete disaster in terms of quality, durability, and customer support. When something went wrong, there was little to no help available. With the Rascal Carbon Cruiser, you may pay more up front, but you are also paying for reliability and a company that stands behind its product. If you are on the fence about spending more for a quality wheelchair, my advice is simple: bite the bullet and invest in a chair that will actually meet your needs and be supported if something goes wrong. Between the design of the chair and the outstanding customer service, this purchase has been well worth it.

Flat paved surfaces only
Weight to power is decent. smooth flat surfaces only. barely manages even the slightest incline. going up okay, but down you lose steering control. Hitting the smallest of bumps will lunge the passenger forward off the chair. Turning radius should be better. It fills the air travel requirement nicely, but it lacks in real world usage unless your inside a mall, convention center, flat evenly paved surface. i had such high hopes. My other brand airline ready chair is a significant improvement over this, albeit harder to travel with.

Terrible customer support
The chair itself is fine, but the battery didn’t even last a year. It was still under warranty but getting the new battery has been a pain, taken over a month, and has required multiple service technicians to confirm the battery won’t charge. A replacement charger was shipped (to a service technician who we need to schedule a time with for them to bring us the charger), but the battery itself has been “in the process of preparing to be shipped” for 2 weeks according to the service rep on the phone. In the meantime a 91 year old who can barely stand has been without his wheelchair while a company that makes mobility devices for disabled people drags their feet.

EXECELLENT value on this "Rascal" brand, lightweight power chair. It is rated as a FDA CLASS II MEDICAL DEVICE. I needed a portable electric chair for my 93 year old Mom. Rascal is a top brand in mobility appliances, like wheelchairs, mobility chairs and mobility scooters. It is made of Carbon Fiber, Nylon and Plastic. This chair is PERFECT for Mom who is 4' 10" and weighs about 110 lbs. It has a 300 pound capacity and can travel up to 9.3 miles on a single charge. Equipped with a 24V, 12AH lithium battery that is AIRLINE-COMPLIANT and weighs only 4.6 pounds and can be stowed, separately from the chair. The chair weights in at 42 lbs. Total weight, 46.6 lbs. It's joy stick controlled with easy to read LED indicators. Comes with removable cup holder and two conveniently located storage pouches. The battery is mounted under the seat and easily disconnects for storage/folding. Total dimensions are: 37"D x 24"W x 38"H. Folded, it compacts down to just 12.2 inches wide. You must remove the battery to fold it up. I also like the versatility that you can also use this chair can be used manually as a transport chair or pushed by another person when navigating difficult or tight , crowded spaces. Mom will be using in areas where using a larger mobility scooter is simply not practical. Like a mall, flea market, at the airport, restaurants, etc. NOTE: A standard manual wheelchair typically weighs between 35 to 45 lbs.

This is good quality, but had to return as it was too small for hubby. It does hold 300 lbs, but the seat was good for width, but his knees were too far forward.
