This is my 7th Trevala. I have several models that I use for everything from flag yellowtail and mahi mahi to 40 pound + kingfish. It’s a very strong rod, great backbone and it has never disappointed. It is not a rod if you are looking to cast baits/ lures long distances. It is quite stiff, good for hauling in big fish.     • Single footed guides for tvs66mh2
It's a pretty pole. I got the tvs66mh2. Only thing I don't like is the guides. The inserts are awesome, but the actual guides are single footed besides the guide closest to the reel. I wish all the guides were double footed. They bend too easy. Rod has a nice bend to it and is sturdy. I will try fishing tomorrow and update if need to. Update: the rod is nice. I caught a 6lb striped bass on my first cast and it handled the fish like there was nothing there. 2nd cast... I caught a 20lb mud marlin (bat ray) and the rod took the abuse. Pretty solid rod. Still though. Double footed eyes would've been better. ... show more

Very nice, sensitive, and strong rod. super five stars to the seller. But, 3.5 stars to shimano for a material problem with the 2nd line ring from bottom. The ring had two legs not like a casting jigging rod all rings having 3-leg that made the ring bended or broken so easy. If shimano could replace the ring with a 3-leg ring for the spinning rod, it will be perfect! ... show more

rod is very strong and light but cant really cast out that far. Tip area is a little to stiff but i still give it a 4 stars
