  • Absolute Must for any Road Trip!
Format: Spiral-bound
GPS is wonderful but it's neither infallible nor is it reliable in all areas! We took a cross county excursion this summer and learned there are parts where the GPS was spotty or outright not available. The road atlas was a lifesaver at these moments. We frequently used the Road Atlas in combination with the GPS to get a larger view of the surrounding area -- without losing our current GPS route -- to make decisions about next steps that were not just based on fastest route, but what other towns and sites we could pass. In this was it was very very helpful. We could make notes, highlight locations and roads - and now we something that holds tangible memories of your trips that also continues to be useful! ... show more

  • Good to have an actual MAP and a must for those wanting to visit US NP!!!!!
Format: Spiral-bound
It has been an while since I have actually used the map due to too much reliance on Google map. However, G-map has it limitation and when searching for area, it was very hard to find entry to the park. Also, for me planning a cross country tour, the map actually is very helpful estimating the distance an surrounding area. So, by using both the G-map and the physical map, I am much able to plan out the large trip and use the Gmap feature to add the locations from the map and update the direction on Gmap. Doing so will eliminate carrying this huge map. This is good for road trip but not for traveling by plane or train as this map weighs about 3 lbs and its about 12 inch by 24 inches. ... show more

  • Love this book!
Format: Spiral-bound
While this book is big, it's got everything you need and is not hard to use in the car for a solo traveler as long as you pull over first, which is what you should always do anyway. I do use it in conjunction with the extra large foldable paper maps for some states only because those individual maps have more detail. But this book is great for the overall planning of routes and it has great detail about the national parks. I preferred this book to the individual national parks guide because it had more of the parks I was going to in it. ... show more

  • The spiral binding makes this much easier to use when traveling
Format: Spiral-bound
We use this for road trips in our RV and the spiral binding is a definite plus - lies flat and so much easier to keep open to the page you want to use. It is a large atlas, might not work as well in smaller spaces, but easy on the eyes and really helpful in areas (like many national parks) where cell service is weak or nonexistent. ... show more

  • Great gift for nature/national parks lover
Format: Spiral-bound
I love to have a paper map in areas of the world, but do not have good cell service for online maps. This has a great maps of cities and roads, but also has dedicated Pages to national parks. We went on three national parks trips last year and used it every time. It also gives information about fun stuff about the park as well as maps and other information. ... show more

  • Not the dinosaur my kids thought!
Format: Spiral-bound
My adult children laughed when I bought this atlas. They rely on technology, and couldn't imagine it failing. While we were traveling through an area with very little, if any internet available, the gps did fail. This map didn't fail! It was also helpful to see what towns were coming up, to say nothing of all the national parks it highlighted!! ... show more

  • Still like a paper map
Format: Spiral-bound
Have used these maps for years. I like seeing what the next town is or special interest along the way. Not really crazy about GPS and GPS is not available in some parts of the Country. Went from South Texas to Mt Rushmore, South Dakota. I like the smaller version of these maps like 8 1/2 X 11. Much easier to handle. Getting harder to find paper maps. ... show more

  • Sometimes you just need the maps
Format: Spiral-bound
Got tired of Google sending me on dirt roads in Arizona (especially near Oatman) and often to avoid traffic back ups. We consistently drive the west and need maps. Better than the folded maps and a very good size. Plus the national Park info was fun. We detoured to a few.
