  • Great Atlas
This atlas wasn't what I hoped, but that's my poor choice, not the publisher. If it's the type of atlas you are seeking, it's great. I didn't return it because it's still useful, but I was hoping for more maps than all the other information that took up several pages.

  • Concise Atlas
Gift for husband’s birthday/Father’s Day. Didn’t have detailed maps of US States or countries but hubby liked today’s most current stats and details of interesting topics covered in the world’s social geography

  • Concise Atlas of the World
The product is as shown. A good book to read and very factual. Either way I recommend this book by National Geographic to anyone wanting facts about world geography.

  • Just what I needed!
As much as I can read online (and do) and look up stuff about places (which I do), this book is so beautiful and filled with data about just about everything worldwide! I got two books, actually. One was for a friend that doesn't have internet access, and he read through the entire book three times in a row! I know, right? He loves to read, he wanted something he could view maps, read about places, and just virtually explore the world, basically. This book sure does that well! I am enjoying reading about places and exploring countries, finding about people everywhere. Very fascinating, very beautiful and interesting book. It's a BIG book, good for sitting on a coffee table or a desk. It would be a good gift for anyone that wants to learn more, explore more, fire up the curiosity. ... show more

  • A Good, Quick Reference
I bought this atlas because it was one of the most up-to-date available, and was offered at a really good price. Pros: * Organized by continent with clear political and physical maps of each continent; * useful short pieces of information about each nation such as capital city, population, ethnicity, life expectancy, etc. * informatiive and useful information about our solar system and basic astronomy. Con: * maps of Asia and Africa are small and crowded, so lack many geographic features, and some nations barely show up. I knew that as a smaller reference ("concise" is accurate!) the atlas would have limitations, so my negative is hardly a deal-breaker. This is a good, handy quick reference to reach for when trying to locate places in world news, as long as you aren't looking for a lot of detail. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase! ... show more

  • This was to be a gift.
Looks to be a beautiful book with very nice pictures. However, the back cover was damaged due to being tossed in the shipping box. It was not wrapped in any type of protective material. I would recommend buying from the nearest bookstore.

  • Dry good
Not crazy about”coffee table” books. This book had all the information I was looking for. The geographic world has changed so much since I was in school, I wanted to know the names of the “different” countries, as well as a little about each.
