The calipers are sturdy, the adjustment wheel is smooth and firm, the measurements are accurate, and the hold screw keeps your measurement type! It was certainly a change from my previous plastic cheapo, plastic calipers, but I wish that I would've done it sometime ago! These were an incredible step up, and only a small jump in price! The functionality is excellent, keeping your measurements, precise, and easy to use! The product comes cleanly wrapped in a nice box with a sturdy, hard plastic travel, and storage case! Works as it should. The material is metal and seems durable. Battery hasent died yet but it came with extra batteries. Extremely accurate down to fractions of an inch. Great for measuring the size of the strings my used guitar I bought needed.

I was very pleasantly surprised by these. I bought them because they were about the cheapest calipers that are full featured. The first impression other than the case which is made to last, is the weight. These are heavy, indicative of the quality of the build. The parts fit together with precision. The display dis clear although some of the fractional measurements are a little odd : 59/260" They even give you a screw driver for changing the batteries. Yes the battery cover screws in to place. I've had two previous calipers fail because of the thumb opening cover.

Accurate and repeatable measurements. Had another cheapo, and each time I measured the same part I got a different result. This one is consistent. Measured some machined gauge blocks, and the reading was spot on. Probably not accurate enough for a machinist, but it's certainly accurate enough for a woodworker. So why 5 stars if it's not perfect? Because it's 1/10 the price of a Mitutoyo, and for $15 you get far more accuracy than you're paying for. Build quality is also good, and the included case, though just blow molded plastic, holds everything firmly and safely.

Extremely nice, heavy, all metal caliper. No slip whatsoever so readings are consistently accurate. Locking thumbwheel, open/close thumbwheel, 3 batteries, and sturdy plastic case. Getting a second to swap out garage caliper. Oh, and only $18!!!!
