The media could not be loaded. So I’m a bit of a shade tree mechanic and I’m always looking for ways to make it easier for me to see into tight spots and doesn’t require me removing parts to accomplish that. My fiancé also builds and repairs guns in his spare time and it helps to have a picture of certain areas that you normally can’t see. So we decided to get this one and see if it would work for us. I’m going to be honest that I was not a huge fan of this Borescope for mechanic purposes. The photo gives the impression that the cable of the scope is pretty long, but it’s not. It’s maybe 2-3 feet max so it limits the areas I can get into on my 69 Caddy. It also limits the ability to use it for pipes or plumbing. It also will not fit in an average sized gun barrel. It only has the single camera on the end so it doesn’t get side views in tight spaces. The way the camera scope moves is by rotating a dial on the handle under where your phone is positioned. It angles and rotates the camera but it needs a few inches to move around fully. It also feels weird when the camera moves, like you can feel the joints moving around the end and I’d be concerned it might break easily after repeated use. The picture of the camera is good, but that also depends on your device’s settings. It does have a light source around the camera so it will illuminate dark areas. It works for many different purposes, but the length is a problem for my household. It’s very simple to set up and use, and it feels like it holds my phone securely, and I keep my case on it. I think if you are able to get under your car, it would be easier to reach some areas that are not possible from above if you have a large engine, I have a 472 in my Caddy and the thing is huge. If you have a big truck it might be too short for some areas. If you’re using it to diagnose plumbing issues, it would work as long as the clog or issue isn’t too far down. It’s probably not usable with most guns. I’d say it is most easily used to access the top of the engine, inside the radiator or fan assembly. The cable is well made and it doesn’t feel like it would get cut or damaged easily. If you have a smaller car like a 97 Honda Civic, or a motorcycle or other small engine, it should work well for you.

The borescope is well made and works well with a few areas for improvement. The scope length could be longer. The phone holder presents as fragile - don't expect longevity. The app is intrusive. The scope control is awkward until using it a few times. Picture quality will vary based on intended use and phone settings. I recommend the better value purchase of Ralcam with display over this style as it's functional but less practical.

Dont waste your time and buy the other scopes this seller offers. This one requires a phone to be connected and you can’t even power on the handheld without having some phone that functions through an app. *For me it did not even find the scope) Worst thing about it is the app you send the buyer to, I mean that was created on someone’s porch while smoking a cigarette or something. The app is worthless. The scope itself feels great but it doesnt work. Sending it back.
