These window treatments are gorgeous, the color is perfect, not orange, more of a brownish gray. I bought one to check out the quality and then very quickly ordered for every window in my house. They were super easy to install and fit my windows perfectly. I’m a little nervous about the cord mechanism because it is a very thin string, so I could see with a lot of use it might not hold up, but I’m praying we don’t have any issues. I’m also a little worried about fading so I’m going to buy some burlap to line the backs. These provide great light filtering, not blackout as there are some areas where the Sun gently peeks through, but good enough it will significantly darken the room if they are pulled down all the way. I’m super impressed with these and the price is awesome. I got a quote from budget blinds for something similar and was able to buy these shades for a fraction of the cost. ... show more

I bit the bullet and bought 4 for my bedroom windows. I absolutely love them!! But it was pricey when you have more than a couple of windows to cover. Installation was the easiest I’ve ever experienced and I like to decorate and have moved a lot so that’s saying something!! At first I wasn’t sure how to grab the bottom to lower the blind, that is the only part that is a little awkward. It’s not difficult but you aren’t sure because the bottom bunches up pretty thick when it’s raised. It does stick out a little at the bottom because of the nature of how the blind has excess sort of folded there. But it doesn’t bother me. And I was pleasantly surprised by how dark it keeps our bedroom in the morning. You can see tiny little strips of light because these are not lined, but none of them are wide enough to stream light in. I can’t sleep with any light so this is important for me! The texture and color is beautiful and warms the room up. I love the valance at the top, very classy. I want these for my whole house but I think we have something like 28 windows so it would be quite pricey (even though I think these are a great value and well made) to do this in every room. I do plan to purchase more! I would love it if there was a little hidden handle so I felt better about how to pull the shade down. Oh also, you simply push up lightly on the bottom and it raises so easily. 10 stars!!! ... show more

I love these. The only problem that I had installing them was that the screws included are not flat on the head. By the time I install the brackets even with the flat screws that I replaced them with, there is not a lot of post exposed to secure the blinds with the wingnut. If you use the included screws there is even less exposed post even if you're able to get the screws in all the way and to do that you'll have to use a regular screwdriver, as the screws are brass and your power driver will chew right through them. Don't bother with the included screws. Once I got past that little bit of frustration they installed quickly and work as described. They don't come in custom sizes and were I believe about a half inch narrower than the description, but I believe that is standard in blinds and shades. I didn't mind a little space between the frame and the shade on the sides because I'm using them with curtains. They block a lot of light and look great. ... show more

Overall, I’m really happy with these shades, despite the fact that they were difficult for me to install by myself. My arms are sore, and it took me about two hours to align a pair for my sliding glass door. Even with all that work, they still look a little mismatched (see picture). I would highly recommend asking someone for help, and get the right tools handy before you begin. I didn’t have a stud finder, but was able to use a strong magnet to find a sturdy place to screw in brackets. I would have given this product a full five stars if they had just included a guide for where to screw the holes to make sure they are even, so I didn’t have to do extra measuring, then re-measuring, etc. Most new items these days with hanging hardware include this (it’s sort of like a stencil). Compared to other listings for similar products, this is a good bargain. I’m especially glad that they look child-safe, and my crazy kids won’t be able to rip them down like they have my last 2 sets of flimsy curtain rods. ... show more

I ordered this shade to replace the outdated shade in our master when we moved in to our home. After reading some of the other comments, I can't comment on the consistency in valance size from shade to shade as I only needed one shade, but I can say that I LOVE (love!) this shade. It is not warm-toned at all, it hangs evenly and extends and retracts easily, it feels sturdy, it blocks out a good amount of light, and it was not difficult to install. It really elevates the space! My one tiny complaint is that the screws it came with were garbage. After the first one broke as I screwed it in, I tossed them all and used my own. The product also came quickly, which I appreciated. Highly recommend this product! ... show more
