Its completely made of metal so its sturdy and holds my detector extremely well. Its kind of hard tho to remove the detector from it which might be a good thing since it wont accidentally fall off the mount. I was pressing the release vutton on the detector and trying to get it off and had to give it a little umph to remove it since it fits really tight. If your one who always removes the detector then it might give you a hard time or annoy you. Otherwise its all metal and you can loosen the set screw on the side to make it more easy to adjust then tighten when you find the perfect placement. It fits snugly under the mirror and doesnt get in the way. Im sure it could last forever or at least many years.

This one is so much better than the one that comes with the standard radar. On hot days, the standard suction cup would get loose and I’d come back to my car with the radar on my dash. With this one it’s totally fine. The magnet doesn’t feel extremely strong, but so far even offloading. I haven’t had any issues of it falling off time. Will tell how it will last but the build quality feels pretty good.

This absolutely works as intended. I like having a mount that doesn’t rely on the dash or window. The magnet is perfect and the ball joints are great: I had a version of this maybe 8 years old and when I got a new car, the current screws were too long hitting the stuff above the rear mirror. I did not know where the shorter screws were. So I ordered this replacement, which looked like an “upgrade” as the older one would loosen and get jiggly. This newer version is sturdy, looks like the silicone “gaskets” on the ball joints will keep everything solid. The star deducted is for the actual mounting part, which doesn’t accommodate new cars as well. This is my second car with hardware above and facing the windscreen and at the header that make fitting the part challenging. It is not a clean fit and while it tightens ok and functionally works, it’s askew. The shorter screws fit correctly but due to the tight space was a real bear to get on. I love the device. It’s probably due for a total design evaluation for the mirror connection to address how cars have changed.

First bad part, the magnet doesn’t sit flush in my Escort Max 360 MKII. It only hangs on by the front portion that is supposed to “slide” in the radar detector slightly. The back of the magnet doesn’t get full contact so it wobbles down the road. Second, I barely tightened the screws to secure it to the mirror and you can see the screws bending even though I was tightened it evening by hand. Not worth it. Was excited, but this is getting returned.

This is a no brainer, must buy! 10x better than having a radar detector attached to an extremely hot windshield in the sun. No more suction cup falling off the windshield. The bracket adjusts nicely to your preference under the rearview mirror. After tightening the screws there is no movement or sagging of your radar detector. The magnet is strong and fits perfectly into my Escort MAXcam 360c.
