  • Well built rack for medium duty use.
Size: 16U
This is a good medium grade rack. It comes with screws and is VERY well packaged. I had no damage. The one nitpick CON I have is that the corners are welded and I don't see a way to arrange it so you could use the cage nut side if you so desired. Be aware with ay decent rack you will loose 1U in the front and 2U in the back, at top and bottom. So from the front side you loose 2U off the bat. It has a top, which can be useful and it does add additional strength. It comes with 3 shelves, but I'm not using them in my use case. BTW there is no difference in the screws in the A&B bags, weird that they call them out for different uses on the rack. ... show more

  • A DREAM COME TRUE
Size: 16U
I purchased this after a NIGHTMARE with another rack product that (also purchased on Amazon) was about $30 less than this one. This product, however, is a DREAM! My wife teased me and said it would probably go together quickly, but she underestimated the ease. It actually went together in less time that it took to unpack the parts! (They use lots of shrink plastic which I had to cut off each piece). But the end result is well worth the price. No issues whatsoever with assembly, and the build quality and strength, while not equal to high end professional racks (e.g. Chatsworth), it is still a step up from "other" racks you may find here. As someone else commented, it doesn't use cage nuts on the front and rear rails. Rather, it has holes on EIA-310D spacing (industry standard) that accept 10-28 screws. I've worked with these before (professionally) and they work fine. They provide qty. 30 of 10-28 screws for equipment mounting, but I also ended up with a substantial surplus of the longer screws which are used to assemble the rack. So I have like 40 to 50 usable screws after assembly. At 4 screws per mounted item, that means I can mount 10-12 items without needing to purchase more screws. NOTE: The top and bottom "U" spaces (of the advertised 16U) are not usable due to being taken up by the frame itself. Also the rear struts of the frame have projections that take up another 1U or so at the top and bottom. But these won't be an issue unless you are mounting equipment (like a server) that would extend beyond the depth of the rack. This rack isn't designed for such deep equipment anyway, but just a heads up for you. I would recommend this rack for all but the heaviest of loads, and find its quality very good for the price! ... show more

  • Not bad
Size: 20U
I didn't have any problems with damage from shipping, like some have mentioned. The metal is reasonably thick, and it went together fine. Very sturdy when assembled.

  • Good quality
Size: 20U
Good stuff! Just what I needed! Only wish the rack screws were longer and tapered for easier fit but otherwise good! 👍🏽

  • Solid, exactly as described
Size: 16U
Exactly what it should be. Correct sizing, fantastic price, easy to set up. Really nothing else to say about it--- I can't imagine anyone would buy this and be upset unless they sized it incorrectly.

  • Average Fixed Sideways Mounted 1/2 Rack
Size: 20U
I chose the 20U rack, as I do need to mount a mini-server, which I can actually mount on one of the sideway mounted trays. You must use it sideways; otherwise, you will not be able to access the back side of the rack when it is mounted on the wall. The trays can only be added/removed while the rack is not mounted on the wall, so plan out their placement before mounting on the wall. When using the trays, they do provide additional stability, but they also take up at least 1U of space for each rack. Functionally, this is a 1/2 depth rack, otherwise known as an appliance rack. It is not deep enough to hold most rack mount servers or NAS devices. If you place a mini-tower on a rack, it will take 4-5U of space. You can place minimal depth panels on those levels, but you definitely would not be able to mount any kind of appliance on those levels. The shelves could hold 4-6 single board PCs and only use 1-2U of space, which is another option. It was very easy to assemble, but it doesn't feel as stable as my other racks. Placing both of the sideway mounted trays in it does increase the stability a lot, and would be absolutely required if you do not mount the rack on the wall. Stability is the sole reason for taking off 1 star. I do need to have it on wheels, so I'll need to create some wheel mounts for it. BEST ... show more
