  • Easy Installation, Instant Privacy
Unless you live out in the country somewhere, and even if you do, you probably have windows that face either the street, or the neighbors, in such a way that people can look straight in. Even when I'm not doing anything in particular, I don't want all and sundry being able to glance in and get a full view of me and what's going on in my house. On top of that, there are certain windows where the sun BEATS in at certain times of day and makes the room uncomfortably hot, even in mid-winter. This film solves both of those issues. I cut a piece to fit, and followed the instructions. Clean the window, leave it wet, peel off the backing from the film, and apply it to the window. With the water on the window, the film can be moved around until it's in exactly the right position. Then you just leave it alone. From the outside, it looks like a mirror. From the inside, you still get an undiminished view out, but the glare is cut tremendously. Makes your hot, unusable room usable again. One thing that they warn you about in the instructions, and kind of goes without saying, is that it is still possible to see through this film from the outside, if the light inside your house is brighter than the light outside. So, for example, at night, when you have lights on inside, the inside of your house is almost as visible as it was without the film. Still, this film dampens down that visibility quite a bit and provides a bit more privacy than you had before. I recommend highly! ... show more

  • I'm totally in love with the bamboo flower pattern, so easy to install!
Rabbitgoo, I'm in love! What a name, though! We have a 300 sq ft Florida Room with 6 huge windows (really more like 12 double windows) overlooking the yard, French doors leading to the patio and is entered via a sliding glass door from the kitchen, plus window over the kitchen sink leads to a view of the Florida room. That's alot of glass! 15 years ago I installed similar window film on the French doors and the 6 (12) large windows. After all these years that window film (a dark blue clematis pattern) is just too dark overall, leaving our kitchen too gloomy. Plus since it had to be pieced together (wasn't in large enough rolls) the odd seams are bothersome and it's starting to fall down in a few places despite efforts to keep it installed. So now I'm in the market to replace that film as the budget allows, too. Meanwhile after all this time I've decided to install film on the sliding glass doors leading into the Florida room. Though I made tge decision earlier this year, I've been waiting for the right film for our sliding glass doors in the kitchen. I've been eyeing the bamboo flower pattern awhile, then Rabbitgoo recently provided this roll free of charge to review. I honestly love the Rabbitgoo Bamboo Flower pattern soooo much I have already purchased another roll to finish the sliding glass doors. The Bamboo Flower pattern is the absolute prettiest pattern I've ever found. My skeptical husband now finally agrees with me we needed a pretty film for the kitchen slider - he was afraid it would cut the light too much making our dark kitchen even darker when in reality it's just perfect. I will soon be ordering more "Rabbitgoo" for other windows as my budget allows. Speaking of which - Rabbitgoo is far more economical than the old blue clematis window film I'd bought previously from a local box store, the Rabbitgoo is far prettier and it installed much easier - that's a winner! UPDATE: several weeks have passed. Family and friends have each commented how beautiful the sliding glass doors are with the Rabbitgoo Bamboo Flower pattern - the pattern actually glows golden because of the honey oak stained pine walls in the Florida Room! In fact the doors look brand new and... Absolutely elegant. I am honestly smitten. True Rabbitgoo provided the first roll free of charge for reviewing purposes, then I bought the 2nd roll. I'm eyeing another less expensive pattern (which Rabbitgoo actually carries too) for the six (12) large windows.... Yet I hesitate because I know I'll never be as satisfied as I am with the Bamboo Flower pattern. Perhaps I just need to replace the film on 1 window pair at a time as the budget allows. I'll update again once that decision has been made, in the meantime I'm adding a couple photos. Enjoy! ... show more

  • Works for the price.
This is the second product I have bought from this company. The first was a triangle patterned film that I have on a glass storm door. It is WONDERFUL. A few air bubbles but when I leave the front door open, the room fills with rainbows and it just looks great. It makes me smile every time I see it. I have had it up about a year and even though it gets the morning sun, it shows no signs of giving up. So when I decided to cover a little window in another door, I found this. I only needed a piece about 8" by 11" but for the price, this seemed worth it. It is quite nice. Went on easily. Thick plastic. Good directions for installation. I just used a spatula and no bubbles. I like it but it does not have the same "dazzle" that the other pattern has. Just my experience but a great product for the price and gives me light but total privacy in a side door window. ... show more

  • Worth it
I have been using rabbitgoo for a long time now. I have 18 windows in my home and all but 4 have this brand product on them. I would say about half of them have the textured type that create rainbows all over when the sun shines through. I absolutely love them, and I will say the textured ones are easier to put on because the material is thicker and it doesn't crease as easy. Now for the the black tint film to block out the sun/heat. I will say it definitely keeps my rooms noticeably cooler. During the day you can barely see in, you really have to be trying. At night yes you can see in which is to be expected. It's reversed from what you are used to. Day you can see out, people have a hard time seeing in. Night you have a hard time seeing out, people can see in. This film is much thinner than the textured stuff. It's literally like are window tint. It's easy to cut which is nice (the textured is harder to cut through) but that can also cause a problem if you don't take your time cutting it. You will have to have some patience with this film. It can be frustrating, the film will crease if you aren't careful and the crease will not come out. You will get bubbles, make sure you have a decent squeegee. Water is definitely your best friend, the more the better and if you think you have too much spray more. Slowly allow the film to stick to the window as you push out as much water/bubbles as you can. Let it sit for the day or overnight and go back over the bubbles again. Most go away with time as the heat dries the water under the film. Unless you are a professional you need to understand it most likely wont be perfect. I am very OCD so there are things about my application that bother me but the light/heat blocking is worth the imperfections in my opinion. I have not had an issues with it not staying on the window, not with any of the products. Some of my windows have had rabbitgoo on for 8 years and its still on perfectly. I wouldn't recommend trying to take it off after it's been on for days to fix anything but with your initial application you can lift it up, spray water, and try again. Overall I think it's a great product nothing will be perfect unless you have a precision cutter or something of that nature, and the only way you will keep heat and light out completely is if you remove your windows all together. This company makes a good product, I recommend it to everyone. I recently put up the black on black which I like better than what I put up a few months ago which was black and silver in a different room. ... show more

  • Great Product - Will be purchasing this brand again...
These pics are on day 2 after installation of the product (2 bathrooms (24x24inch) windows and partial kitchen door windows). They are stuck on strong after they have 100% dried. I also installed the privacy film on 4 small windows (9x14 inch) in my basement (not shown in these pics). I used one roll (size: 35.4" x 78.7" white) to complete the project. I will be buying another roll Size: 17.5" x 78.7 to complete the kitchen door windows and will purchase the Brown Size: 17.5" x 78.7 to install on my office french door and on a small window on my entrance front door. A couple of suggestions for a polished look is to used an old credit card or squeegee to install. I first used a putty knife as a squeegee which look like it was working but half way through the drying process, I noticed that way too many air bubbles formed. I removed the film and reinstalled using an old credit card as a squeegee with better results. I checked half way through the drying process again and flattened out only a couple of air pockets on the larger windows using the credit card. If installing on much more larger windows, definitely invest in a squeegee for sure. Also if you need to trim off any excess film after installing, be sure that your trimming tool is razor sharp, otherwise a blunt tool will drag the film off the window or create jagged edges. The quality of the film is amazing and I had no problems removing the backing to install however, the instructions comes with tips how to successfully remove the backing if you are having difficulty. Since it was my first time doing this and I'm a visual diy-er, I went on YouTube to watch the installation process of a privacy film. With time and patience, the finished look is amazing and it's super simple to cut to size and install. You can play around with the design either going horizontally, vertically or alternating both. The pictures does not give the product any justice, if not seen in person. I'm a happy customer. ... show more

  • Extremely difficult to install vs other rabbitgoo products
I have used rabbitgoo for privacy on a dozen different windows, including sliding glass doors. At this point, I am an expert installer. I cut the film to size, I spray the window, I adjust accordingly, and I push out the bubbles. Not this mirror film. I bought the largest size for two sliding doors. When I went to cut the film to size, it kept bending and creasing, even with me taping it to the top of the door. And where it bent, it left a permanent mark/line. I sprayed the window liberally, then started to peel off the backing. The adhesive on the film left no room for error, even with the window dripping with water. As I tried to slide the edge in place and pull more backing off, the backing would crease the film. By the time I finished a square foot, the rest of the water had evaporated and I had to spray again. After I got the top of the window finished, I realized pushing the bubbles out creased the film even more. After an hour, I balled the film up in frustration and resigned to buying a different cling. I wish I had realized this film is not restickable, like all the rest of the rabbitgoo products. I think this film would work well for smaller windows, where you can easily cut to size and work quickly, but trying to install this on a large sliding window is nearly impossible. ... show more

  • Pros and Cons
Color: Dark Black Silver Size: 35.4" x 157.4"
It’s really difficult to know based on the product description whether or not this is the very thin film or more thick pvc type. Unfortunately for my preference, this is the thin film kind. I don’t like this type of window tinting film because of how tedious the application process is particularly over large windows. Capturing air bubbles is part of the process of any privacy film application and if you press the air pockets out with any stretching of this thin film you’ll create wrinkles you can’t “unstretch” out. I have a separate felt edge smoothing spatula to ensure smooth contact is made after spraying lots of water (the windows will go to work evaporating water immediately so it’s an ongoing effort to keep the glass wet), but once you remove the clear plastic protector the clinging side wants to stick to everything including itself. The appeal of the thin film for some users is that (if applied without wrinkles) the visibility outward from indoors is clearer than with a PVC window tinting film. However, you’re going to see the air pockets and wrinkles from the exterior if it’s poorly applied and it gives a really ugly look to your home’s curb appeal. The product does reduce the indoor heat significantly and provides efficient sun protection as well. In the video included, the thin film with silver side (the product I’m reviewing by RabbitGoo) I’m comparing it to another product that is thicker and more like the PVC vinyl used to make pool floaties. ... show more

  • Does the job
Perfect! Love how easily it applies and looks. It blocks out a good amount of sun and gives us some privacy. The pattern is a plus and pleasant to look at.
