  • Solid filament
This filament has proven to be reliable and easy to print. I have purchased several colors and haven’t been disappointed. The purple is really nice, the red is a close enough match to Milwaukee Tools for accessories and battery mounts.

  • How can Regular PLA thrive in the High-Speed Printing Era?
The media could not be loaded. 🌟🌟🌟Outstanding PLA Filament for 3D Printing Both Beginners and Experienced Makers🌟🌟🌟 Another moment of pure delight came over me as I used R3D transparent PLA filament for my 3D printing projects, and it exceeded all of my expectations! Here are my environmental conditions and settings: 3D Printer: Bambu Lab X1C with AMS (I did use this R3D filament with Bambu AMS, along with two adapter rings, due to the larger diameter of the R3D cardboard spool, which measures approximately 196mm.) System Preset: 0.20mm Standard @ BBL X1C Speed Mode: Sport Part Fan 100% Aux: 0% Chamber: 0% 🌡️ Thermometer: The recommended temperature provided by the manufacturer is 190°C- 210°C. Before my actual prints, I conducted some tests at temperatures of 185°C and 215°C. I found that the filament printed effectively by setting the temperature a couple of degrees outside the recommended range. However, I set the temperature at 210°C because I wanted to utilize sport mode. 🏁 Printing Speed: Since I wanted to utilize sport mode, the actual printing speed is default other layers speed settings x 125%. We don't take the first layer speed into account here because the printing speed mode cannot override the first layer speed. Outer Wall: 200mm/s Inner Wall: 300mm/s Sparse infill: 270mm/s Internal solid infill: 250mm/s Top Surface: 200mm/s Surprisingly, the R3D PLA filament performed exceptionally well with the above speed settings. 📏Dimensional Accuracy: Based on the product description, the diameter of the filament is 1.77mm +- 0.02mm. In reality, I actually don’t see any obvious difference from other products which claim +-0.03mm. I think the layer resolution is more about the flow rate. However, the printed layer resolution is exceptionally fine. 💪 Strength and Durability: It passes bridging and overhang tests with no pressure. That means the filament has a low shrinkage rate during the fast heating and cooling process. Which is why the R3D PLA filament is super durable. I haven’t tried to print with support yet. Maybe it needs a special support filament since it is that durable. I will update here later. Finally, the only drawback is that some of the R3D PLA filament comes on cardboard spools, which necessitated the use of adapter rings to make them compatible with AMS. In conclusion, R3D PLA filament stands as an outstanding choice for those seeking top-notch 3D prints in the high-speed printing era. ... show more

  • Unexpectedly great!
I don't usually write reviews of filament as so much depends on the printer, the settings, the humidity, and the user. But, this filament surpassed my expectations for even more expensive rolls. I was looking for an inexpensive filament for some prototyping I was doing and saw this was too well priced to pass up. My first print with it was a "quick and dirty" prototype that I printed at 0.3mm layer height (0.4mm nozzle). I usually print at 0.2mm layer height, but I needed to rush this through. The print turned out awesome. Great adhesion on a textured PEI build plate. Perfect release when cool. No stringing or sagging. Supports released easily, without damage. I'll definitely be buying more of this brand. ... show more

  • Always pleased - Accurate listing photos 👍
[Update March '24: Still no issues. This brand is nearing half my library. Currently, selection is poor, but prices are still good.] Blue to Pink Color Change with Temperature does change as expected and IMO is a steal sub $15/kg. Y'all are nuts, but I'm excited. [Update: Printed fine and it was a big hit.] Silk Red Gold Purple printed... like PLA. No fuss. Filament swap and run the same gcode as your other PLAs. (But I'm not a perfectionist. PLA always seems to work fine once you find the right temp and it's reasonably dry.) Cons: - Noted by one other review, the Fluorescent Yellow is a light orange, exactly as shown in the listing photo. (Coming up on Halloween when orange is all selling at a $4/kg premium.) Fluoresces nicely, if you care about that (see images). - Availability of specific colors is inconsistent. When it's out, it's out and might not come back for a while. Bottom line: All the spools I've received have been neatly wound, without any cardboard damage to the rims, bags still holding vacuum. I've bought 10x1kg spools and 4x250g from this listing, but I'll update if anything else stands out as I print them. It's PLA. In Oct '23, this is the best deal on PLA. Selling fun PLAs for budget PLA dollars is the cherry on top. ... show more

  • Good filament over all but “same” color not the same
I ordered 4 rolls of the R3D filament and it prints great but the colors from roll to roll do not match well. All were supposed to be the same but you can see I. The image when one roll ran out the next was significantly lighter. I am painting so not a problem but still should be noted.

  • Favorite Filament
This stuff prints great and you can’t beat the price. I wish they would put out their other colors at this price. This is my 4th spool of this. Prints great no stringing and it just looks good.

  • Perfect!
Great quality for the price, we usually get hatchbox but didn’t have this color we needed. The name was a little intimidating as they labeled it fluorescent yellow, but turned out to be the exact mango color purchased.

  • A clear product that comes close to as advertised!
This transparent/clear PLA is close to transparent as anything I’ve ever seen! After dialing in the flow rate, pressure advance, and temperature, it prints fantastic. Printed on a Creality K1C and smooth plate, temp at 235C, flow rate 100%, and PA at .044. Highly recommended, dry and ready to print right out of the bag, kind of stiff, but no tangles. Way to hit it out of the park R3D!!! ... show more
