Absolute garbage, pad material is made of subpar material after 6 months and 6,000 miles they need to be replaced because they worn down to roughly 20% pad left. DO NOT BUY!!!! Read the reviews I’m not alone in my experience. I also reached out to R1 and they do not stand by their product, all they said was they have a 30 day warranty on pads. ... show more

Perfect fit on Rotors and Pads on a 2019 Subaru Ascent

My girlfriend’s car was rumbling very bad I just put rear brakes and a wheel bearing on the rear. The pads and rotors seemed to be of high quality. The vehicle stops smoothly now. I replaced all of the hardware and used synthetic brake grease where lubrication is needed. I used never seize between the rear of the rotor where it attaches to the bearing after wire brushing everything. I have a special tool to collapse the pistons. Very straightforward installation. A sledgehammer was needed to remove the old rotors. As far as longevity, I’ve never used R1 brakes before. I’m hoping the drill and slotted design will help the rotors run cooler and last longer ... show more

Better than OEM

Our OEM brakes were toast at only 20,000 miles, lots of complaints about this issue, and the dealership didn't have the upgraded parts. So instead of waiting the 90 days they said it would take, I purchased this ones and they brake better than the original. I cannot comment on life because they only have 3,500 miles on it, but I am sure they will last longer than the OEM. ... show more

Caveat emptor: Poor quality and warranty isn't worth spit

Worse than factory stock. Less than 4K miles and the rotors are warped and scarred. Pads are ground down to metal as well. No, I am not a "two-foot" driver. I learned to drive with a clutch. I never ride the brakes. R1 Concepts concept of a warranty is a con. They have a one year max, and that requires an extensive/expensive diagnostic from a "qualified" brake service shop, documented. That alone may exceed the cost of the brake kit. I used Power-Stop Z23 kits on my '21 Forester and '01 F-250 crew and they are still going strong YEARS later. Do yourself a favor and buy something other than this poorly made and dangerous Chinesium crap. ... show more
