I have had this item for a week now and I’m loving it. You can operate it by remote or the controls on the actual product. There are three color modes for both the logs and the flames. You can also chose them separately. For instance you could have blue flames with red logs. It has two heat settings and effectively warms up the 500ish square foot area I have it in. At the time I am writing this review the heater has been running on the high heat setting for about 3.5 hours and the sides and back are cool to the touch. The top of it is warm but wouldn’t hurt anyone. You can definitely tell that it’s a fake fire but even heaters that are 2 or 3 times more expensive that this one, you can still tell they are fake. I don’t anticipate it requiring too much power but I’ll look at my bill after a month or two and update it it’s sucking down a ton of electricity. All around it’s a great little heater, looks nice in your home and is priced appropriately.

I needed an insert for my fireplace that would bring pretty light and warmth when needed. This unit is beautiful. The remote and options for light, speed of flames, and turning heat on and off is wonderful. The blower is not too loud. What I also like is how lifelike it is to what a gas fireplace would look like. Also, the unit is metal and very solid with safety features like auto shutoff for heat. I bought the grey one and it looks great with my tv that sits on the mantel. This will give me winter warmth and holiday cheer with the light from the ‘logs’. And, finally, the price is excellent for all of this functionality. I am very pleased and seldom write reviews. But there is a lot to choose from so I hope this is helpful to others looking for a freestanding electric fireplace/wood stove. And it is safe to put a dog or cat bed in front as the heat comes out of the top and the rest of the unit does not get hot. My dog likes to sit in front of it.

The media could not be loaded. Warms a medium sized room ok but , not a great as other upright hearters, possible because the heating element is on the top and heat rised so if I sit in front of it I barely feel the heat, I have to stand up to feel it, less output than I thought when it became really cold I had to add another heater. The Fireplace is realistic with 5 different speeds, heights 5 different levels of light and 4 different collor flame lightsand 4 different color logs lights that can be used in16 different combinations the lights flames are Red or Orange or majority Yellow and Blue and majority Blue and Yellow. The logs colors are Red, Orange and maybe a warmer Red but I can't notice any discernable difference in the Reds. The housing itself is beautiful and you can also see the flames on both sides It comes with a remote but you can also adjust everything on the heater itself with a lighted display control panel. I Recommend if you have a small room to heat up but for a large room I do not think it puts out enough heat unless you use it in a work room where you are standing. Beautiful yes, functional... so so

I love that you can change the flames to your liking, brightness, speed and color. Of course, it is not for heating your entire huge room. It is for small spaces. So, Keeping it in your preferred corner where you can read, relax, or watch TV - is an excellent addition to putting you in a positive and content mood. I enjoy the cold ambiance and use it as a decorative tool most of the time. You can use it around the year, depending on your air conditioning settings. For instance, if you live in TX, you can enjoy the beautiful fireplace effect and don't need to turn on the heating. You save electricity and enjoy the flames dancing. if you want to use this as a heater only. Know that, in my opinion, it will NOT heat your entire room—just a small space.

Purchased this for our family/TV room which can get a little chilly during the winter. The flames can be adjusted for color, brightness and speed. The flame bed is adjustable for color. Attractive and mesmerizing. The unit will warm up a reasonably sized room gradually. It has 2 heat levels, 500W and 1500W and one fan speed. It also has a timer which will turn the unit off after 1 to 8 hours. In addition there is an overheating safety device shutoff according to the manufacturer. It took us awhile to locate the remote display inside the unit. As far as we could tell it is not shown in the instruction diagrams but we happened to notice it while adjusting the "flames". The heat level indicators are also a little tricky. While other indicators are numeric, for some reason, the two heat levels are indicated by one dash (-) or two dashes (--). Maybe I am a little dense but it took a while to sort it out. After we purchased the unit, utilizing a $20 coupon, we discovered it was subsequently offered with a $30 coupon. We contacted the manufacturer and they promptly offered us a $10 refund. Easy to deal with.
