  • held up and work very well, changed from 4 to now 5 stars held up and work very well, changed from 4 to now 5 stars
Color: White (Upgraded)
SO! Initial impression they seem really nice for the price ! I’m no pro climber just looking to get some gear to start out getting some trees down for my brother's landscaping business getting into tree work. can’t afford top of the line gear just yet. Initially they feel very solid and appear to be well put together! may touch the spurs up a bit for more sharpness but they are good out of the box nothing about them feels or looks cheap. they feel very solid ! The product manual states they used loktite on the bolts securing the spikes which was reassuring to see! once I get some time in a tree with them I’ll report back I only played with them for a short 5 min after unboxing they truly seem good I was able to climb on them no problem. So yeah they feel solid ! Comfortable enough for tree gaffs and don’t feel cheap at all! Will update after actual use! Stay tuned ***READ! ** so I did remove the bolts which attach the spike to the climbers. there was no Loktite and they were not very tight, so before you use these please remove the bolts add blue LOKTITE and torque down tight. The bolts which affix the pads for adjustment were also a bit loose presumably so it will be easier to adjust for the end user So go through these and adjust and torque it all down properly . Don’t over-tighten the pad bolts as they only screw into the aluminum shank and will strip out just due to having a steel bolt threaded into aluminum I still think these are good value for the money and the spikes are replaceable with Notch spikes model 40512. so really still solid spikes for the money but check them over !!! Update #2 they have been good ! Getting more and more comfortable as I use them . Don’t expect ANY climber to just feel great as soon as you use them for the first time. They have been holding up so far no issues in my practice session so far after LOKTITE and checking over before use . very happy with my purchase use your head and go over them with LOKTITE and proper tightness for all bolts / screws and you’ll likely be very happy too! Update #3 still going strong love these spikes they have made me some money already ! I’ll still be replacing them with name brand in prob a month or 2 but still love these and will be keeping them around for backups or for loaners ! I’ll be climbing again in them tomorrow ! Updated rating from 4 to 5 stars ! For the price ya can’t go wrong well made spikes ! Again don’t forget the locktite 😉👌 Still running them as needed no issues and plenty comfortable ... show more

  • Great spurs for the price.
Color: Green (Upgraded)
Works great. Comfortable enough. But, I’m not spending all day on my spurs. I just couldn’t justify spending four times as much for occasional use tree spurs.

  • Great quality, budget friendly gaffs!
Color: White (Upgraded)
Did a lot of shopping around for budget tree gaffs. Name Brand, entry level models are gonna cost you at least $300 or more to get started. Got these for around $130 and they are fantastic! Very comfortable, solid construction and have spent 2-3 hours at a time in a tree on them with no problems. Velcro straps that go across the calves and quick release foot staps are very secure and easy to use. Got through my entire first year of tree climbing, and they still work great! To me, they look very similar to the notch gecko climbing gaffs. Only problem is that they arrived with the pads installed on wrong gaff (right footed gaff installed on left footed pad and vice versa). Wasn't difficult to flip things around and again for the price really great buy. ... show more

  • Great spikes for small feet
Color: Blue
From the ankle up, 5 stars, all day every day! From the ankle down, could definitely use some improvement. The gaffs are welded on, which it would be better if they were bolted on OR had the ability to be adjusted. Also, the cradle in which the foot rests, or the part that you stand on, needs to be wider, the shank leaves much to be desired. The foot straps are difficult to fasten and tend to loosen during use. Anyone with big feet or bulky boots will have a hard time getting their feet in. That being said, for the money there climbing spikes are pretty damn good. Even if they weren't such a good price, I could justify spending more for them. Only minor inconveniences with these and I use them almost daily. ... show more

  • Great product
Color: Green (Upgraded)
The fit is nice and I'm 6'4" tall with a very wide size 14 foot. Good quality construction and function excellent. I'm 260lbs and feel very safe climbing with these. The included instructions are very clear and easy to understand for anyone not experienced with climbing tree spikes including how to maintain and sharpen when or if needed. I bought this brand cause I've bought other products from vevor and this is another great product. Thanks VEVOR and keep up the great products. ... show more

  • Cheap and fragile Cheap and fragile
Color: Blue
Fragile plastic, cracked on first climb. Metal structure is attached to the leg strap via the fragile plastic, so ince it cracks, the the spikes are no longer usable.

  • Bang for your buck make little adjustment to better this product Bang for your buck make little adjustment to better this product
Color: Sky Blue
These are a bang for your buck the padding and Velcro straps fit to your leg firm no rubbing once strapped in my only complaint is it’s hard to get your boot locked it would be nice if it was a ratcheting strap over what they come with. I had to sharpen my spurs right out of the box they come painted and I found if you file that extra pant you will have a better climbing and grip experience over all the build quality is there. I’ll be looking in to more of vevors tree products to test on real job scenarios ... show more

  • OK for casual use
Color: Green (Upgraded)
I’m not sure how much I trust the foot straps (feels like the plastic will fail without much warning), but the spikes work for the occasional climb. the comfort is ok, but this is not what you want if you spend your days up and down trees or poles.
