I just received these weights and they look used!!! They're scuffed up and have rust where poles have been. One of them is damaged. I ordered two boxes of them and they both looked like this. UPDATE: I bought a second set and stacking works much better. I definitely recommend at least 2 per leg. I thought about using something heavier but I'm getting a bit older now and don't want to strain my back. I carry both sets in a rolling backpack to make transport easier since I do 3 farmers markets a week. While these did fail me in a sudden wind storm of 20-25mph, they were never meant for winds more than about 1-10 mph. That said, most of the complaints I've seen about these are about exactly that. These are 5# weights which means that your entire pop-up is only held down by it's own weight plus 20#. If you want to be safe in winds fresher than a slightly breezy day, then buy more than one set and stack them. Use stakes if you can, tie up to something or even other vendors for more stability but don't expect these to save you in a healthy wind. I'm definitely planning on having a spare set in case of a sudden change in the wind again. I love these little weights and really love that they'll slide right over pretty much any pop-up leg. And they fit nicely in my rolling backpack with my tarps and clamps. Big bonus! ... show more

These don't interlock like I thought - there are way better kinds that lock tight and hold the tent down as opposed to these that just slip off when someone bumps into it or the wind blows a little fierce. I also wasn't able to return these which was super frustrating. I didn't have enough time after the event which I used them for. So much for preparation. ... show more

    • Seem to do the job, but not very heavy

These work well with the Quick Shade canopy I own since they are made to specifically fit the legs of the canopy. That said, they aren't really very heavy and I am not sure how they will perform if there was much more than a typical light wind. They arrive filled, but I wish they came empty so I could fill them with something heavier such as lead shot pellets. It would be nice if they had included a carry bag for them as well, but the cardboard box they come in is fairly sturdy and is what I'm using to store and transport them for now. I do think they are a little pricey for what you get, but I've decided to keep them. ... show more

Disappointed, light to moderate wind and these weights just slid off the legs. We purchased these due to the very light weight of this canopy - good thing we also bungeed one of the canopy legs to a tree or we would have to go looking for it after the weights slid off. Finally had to duct tape them to the legs. Will be looking for a better solution this year. ... show more

Excellent if your canopy is not on grass. Our canopy is on a stone patio. These weights do the job of keeping it down in wind. When we got a super bad wind that blew the canopy over the house, we bought a 2nd set of these weights and put 2 on each leg. It's working well.

Fits great on my First-Up 10x10 Straight Leg Gazebo. Nice product, but 5 lbs per leg might not be enough. On a day with 30 mpg gusts, I ended up moving two weights from the downwind legs to the upwind legs. Fortunately the wind that day was not shifting direction. Since gusty days are not uncommon where I live, I have also purchased a set of four water-fillable weights (Palm Springs brand), which will provide an additional 17 lbs per leg for stronger winds. To the manufacturer, I would suggest adding a slight indentation in the center to help prevent the weights from sliding off of the legs if a strong gust should lift the canopy. The idea is that the foot of the canopy would catch in the indentation and prevent sliding. Also, with a matching protrusion on the opposite side, two weights could be stacked and the top weight would also be "locked" on. ... show more

Easy Canopy Weigh Downs Weighs our instant canopy down easily, just slide onto the canopy feet. Stake downs are not permitted at some sporting events or impossible in some terrains, these do well. We've noticed when windy we have to turn the weights clockwise/counterclockwise so the wind doesn't blow the canopy feet out of the weights. We keep the weights in a sturdy ladies' shoulder bag so it makes carrying BOTH the weights and canopy easier. ... show more
