This Murphy bed was delivered in 4 very large and heavy boxes. The way all of the parts were packed and protected was AMAZING! Honestly, I’ve never had anything shipped and packed for protection like this was. It is definitely a two person job and my husband and I are very handy, so the process went well. It took us about 5 hours to unpack the boxes and put the bed together. If you are not handy, I would seriously recommend hiring a couple of people to put this bed together for you. This bed is made of wood (not fiberboard) and steel and is very sturdy. We only hade one issue with one of the flat steel bars on the side that you screw in, it fits in between a steel welded bracket, for some reason, it was just a bit too wide and we had to take a file and shave one side down, just a little bit, then it fit perfectly. It took a few hours to put together. Directions were mostly adequate, although it required some close study of diagrams to ensure seemingly symmetric parts were assembled correctly. Overall, love it!

    • Two of the boxes were previous return
Missing parts, even though customer service was responsive, the missing parts are a headache specially when it is a large heavy item. It comes in 4 heavy boxes, and returning it would be almost impossible if not very expensive. Two of the boxes were returns from previous customers with loose screws and bolts and patched with masking tape. I spent $1,670 including taxes and I would expect a better service. Took me 4.5 hours to put it together by myself. Very sturdy. Good finish. One small bumper stop needed a slight modification and strut hinge a little grind to remove a burr but otherwise all ok

    • Safety Recall on Other Murphy Beds
Be very careful with this company - they sell defective, unsafe furniture to Wayfair and similar retailers that can cause serious bodily harm and then refuse to refund even after a US and Canada safety recall. I am now waiting almost a year for them to pick up the unit and refund me the money paid.

Thicker hidden bed mattress worth it guys! Alignment of parts takes a bit of the effort and maybe shimming but Iam so happy with the result and so glad that someone designed such thing + retailing it probably hard. 5 out of 5!

It’s works and looks wonderful! Very comfortable guest bed for our basement. Would highly recommend! So easy to raise and lower the bed. Only 4 stars because the instructions to build were some of the most difficult I’ve seen. It took 2 of us hours over a couple of days to assemble.
