The bed arrived via UPS in four HEAVY boxes in great condition. I would suggest you lay out all parts in your large living room, stacked and sorted by part number. There are subtle differences in similar part numbers. These differences are not easily seen on the “instructions”. The instructions are not photographs but drawings with no verbage . There are links to minimalist videos. If you can understand the guy talking, you are more perceptive than me. I had really good help from my sister and brother-in-law also. The fit of parts together is very good. The furniture turned out beautiful overall. There were 4 pieces missing that I made in my shop. Luckily, they were hideable. I set up a table on sawhorses to ease my old back. Overall, my wife is happy with the result. Spread this task out over several days…..

Just wanted to give you a heads up if you are deciding in buying this Murphy bed. I assembled this mostly by myself and it took me over 16 hours to assemble and I have done several furniture assemblies. This is a huge assembly project and you will need two people to assemble. Instructions call for four people to assemble. The instructions are sometimes vaguely illustrated so be very careful that you are not assembling some parts backwards. If you're thinking of doing this as a weekend project, you might want to reconsider as it may frustrate you.

This is a gray murphy bed. It has almost 60 unclear steps so if you are not ready to work for a week straight don't get this bed. The bed is now built and held up by a piece of wood. The entire bed has been scratched from putting it together. I messaged the seller and they requested more pictures. I wanted to send them a video, and mentioned this, however they didn't help me with this. They offered me $100 for all the scratches for the $1,000 bed that was worth probably around $400-$500
