The media could not be loaded. I find this to be on par or better than the two big names that sell these. The use of a brass washer is a great move to allow infinite adjustability, but be a soft enough metal to really engage the grip pattern on the arm itself. If it were steel, you'd have to really crank it down quite a bit more for the same amount of grip. Really nice arm!

When I received this my impression was that it was exported directly from the 1950s. It claims to be "heavy duty" and is - but it does it largely by simply being heavy. The angle adjustment wouldn't work when I received it - it couldn't be made to go past about the first 40 degrees. I loosened the center screw that held it in place - not the adjustment screw that is intended to lock it down - and eventually it would traverse the entire intended range. The lock-down mechanism relies entirely on friction, unlike some others that use "teeth" to increase stability. For very heavy loads I can imagine that might be a bit of a problem.
