I took a chance on this one because there were only 2 reviews at the time of purchase, and one was more vague. We have a spare bedroom, but are finding all of a sudden, more adults with kids are needing to stay with us, and I don't love putting them on the couch or on an air mattress on the floor since air mattresses can deflate and also be pretty cold. Our upstairs loft is a bonus guest suite, with 1 bedroom (our guestroom), a bathroom, and a family room. We do use the family room for things like movie nights, so needed to conserve on space so as not to have to get rid of any seating. Adding a spare bed in there did not make sense, so we'd been keeping our eyes open for a murphy bed. We didn't want to spend thousands, so love that these pull-out ones utilizing trifold mattresses have become a more affordable option without there suddenly being an enormous, out-of-place looking armoire for the traditional pull down murphy bed setups. This one just looks like a deep drawer unit when put together, but of course pulls out into a fairly sturdy bed. I'd say our queen size is definitely a bit deeper than what I'd noticed pictured, but that's because the pictures are all taken at an angle. It's nothing crazy. Just a little deeper than I was anticipating, but it makes sense since, with a 6" tri-fold mattress, it needs to store 18-ish" of mattress plus has front and back panels. Note that it does not come with the mattress. I'm not going to lie -- This thing was a beast to put together. Not necessarily challenging. Just TONS of steps. My husband is very handy and can put together furniture efficiently and does it right. He'll switch out screws and such if anything seems cheap. He didn't need to switch anything out, but even with his expertise in putting together probably hundreds of pieces of furniture over the years, and even building his own solid wood furniture, this was a weekend project. He could have gotten it done in a day, but needed to break it up because... toddlers. He probably spent about 2 1/2 hours on it on day 1, and another hour or 2 the next day. He used the tools it came with occasionally, but mostly used his Dremel drill for quicker and tighter assembly. He felt the instructions were easy enough to sort out. Screws and such generally lined up, though he did complain about one that took a ton of finesse to get in because it wasn't lining up properly. I tried to help him to make it go faster, but he was fastest on his own and I did my best to keep toddlers out of his hair. I think I helped once by holding a panel up while he screwed it in from underneath, but otherwise he had it sorted. If you're an amateur at furniture assembly, it might take a good weekend to get it together, but should work ok with 1 - 2 people. It wasn't too bad to haul upstairs either while still boxed up. Altogether, it feels fairly sturdy for all of the panels that needed to be screwed together. I like that the portion the mattress sits on is all solid panels rather than slats. This might just be me, but it doesn't look like it'd be sturdy, and I get on it with some grace just in case, but it feels sturdy, and that's more important. It's not rickety and should be able to hold up to two adults without issue. It does not squeak or creak or anything when being used, which is great. There is nothing really to pinch fingers on or not rough wood that could cause splinters. While we only used it overnight with 2 boys, my husband and I are both around 6' tall and close to 200lbs each, so not petite people, and we both laid on it side-by-side and it held up just fine. We purchased a 6" gel tri-fold memory foam mattress that works well in this. We got it on Amazon for less than 150, but most were in the 200+ range. The mechanisms move fairly smoothly and it's easy enough, once assembled, to roll out the bed or put it away for 1 person. I am finding it's super nice to have this upstairs in our family room because its utility goes beyond just using it as a bed. We threw a bday part for my daughter and did movies and decor in our upstairs family room, and normally we'd need to add a folding table up there to hold extra, whether drinks, snacks, etc. With this in place, we threw on a 6' folding table plastic tablecloth with her theme on it, and it held about as much as a 6' folding table would. We had 2 huge stacked Costco pizza box, cupcakes, juice boxes, veggie tray, bowls of chips and snacks, and even some gift bags of presents and still had room for some tabletop themed bday decor, and had a fun backdrop above it with happy birthday balloon banners. It looked so nice and functioned well! We have officially used this once as a guest bed, for a single mom friend and her 3 kids. She and her oldest daughter shared the guest bed, and her boys (aged almost 5 and almost 8) shared this murphy bed in the family room next door. It worked beautifully, and everyone was comfy! We threw my daughter the aforementioned birthday party the next day so were able to quickly pull off the sheets, button everything up, and change it to a dresser/ snack/ treat table for the next day. We can store the mattress protector and sheets and spare pillows/ pillow cases in the 2 bottom drawers as well, which is really handy. I'd seen other similar murphy bed setups that didn't have the 2 usable drawers, and I'm really glad we opted for one with working drawers. I know it comes with charging ports and such, but we haven't used those yet so cannot speak to them. All in all, a great purchase and a piece of furniture that will come in handy time and time again.

This ended up being a very sturdy bed but the E screws you are required to use were extremely hard to screw in. There were also a ton of steps. The size is great and it looks nice.

It’s a beautiful product and I was able to build it by myself - just pacing myself a couple of hours a day. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. A few pieces came damaged from shipping and the seller was very responsive and offered replacement pieces.

The packaging the bed came in needs a lot of improvements. When I received my bed boxes they were more tape than cardboard due to the cardboard being busted. I was missing a few pieces and the instructions for assembly. I called the manufacturer/ shipper and they emailed me the directions. I had the bed in 3-4 days which was a big plus. That’s the only reason they have 2 stars and not 1. The replacement parts took almost 3 weeks. I had several conversations with the company about pulling parts out of one already in stock but they said they couldn’t do that. Customer satisfaction must not mean anything to them. I told them I could return this one and order a new one faster than getting the few missing parts.

Bed is just like the photos very pretty when it’s all put together. Putting it together was pretty annoying tons of steps and took about 3 hours. Doesn’t seem to be very sturdy some of the screws are already coming unattached from the wood and we haven’t used it yet.
