No clue where they came up with 3500 lb rating. No way would I put anything over 1000 lbs on this. ... Not that it would ever need to support that much weight anyway (even with high speed impacts haha) This is made of cheap metal but goes together easy enough. It took me 20 minutes to unbox and assemble this. Only needs 12 screws and comes with cheap-o assembly tools. I'd use good tools if you have them. This box spring did make a nice difference for us. This is a really nice and sturdy box spring. I've never seen one like this before but it is perfect. My teenage son put it together in all of 30 minutes. The instructions are nice and clear which was very beneficial. After it was all put together, the box spring was good and solid. The best part about it is that it fits perfectly on just about any type of bed. Unlike the older models, this one is built to last longer. To get the cover in place, you have to stretch the elastic to the point where seams rip. Everything seems to be fine but I'm not sure the cover will hold up long term. Weighs about 30 lbs, 4 parts + center parts, easy to assemble. You have 4 actual parts of the frame that is mostly assembled and all you do is unfold the frame part and link it together. Then you put in the center rails and that it. It does come with a box spring cover.
