This cabana is easy enough for one person to set up in 5 minutes or so. It stayed very sturdy for many hours at the beach in FL. It was not super windy out, but I feel confident it would’ve stayed put if the wind picked up. Provided shade for 2-3 adults easily. 4 adults squeezing, depending on time of day.     • Sturdy and easy to assemble

I grew up by the beach and still go back home regularly for some beach time. I’ve tried many types of umbrellas, and the struggle is finding one that is light enough to carry, sturdy enough not to blow away, easy enough to assemble that I can do it by myself while my 3 kids run around and provides enough shade that everyone is covered. This is a tall order, but Qipi delivers. I carried it to the beach along with my beach bag, my beach chair and a cooler. The umbrella was definitely the lightest thing in my load. I put it together solo to see how long it would take, my fellow parents know, you don’t have long to assemble the umbrella because if you take too long your kids are in the ocean without you. Am I right? For my first time assembling it took me 5 minutes 44 seconds to put up the umbrella, 7 minutes and 9 seconds if you include the side panel. It took me 5 minutes and 29 seconds to completely disassemble. Impressive. I really was impressed with the sturdiness of the middle bar and the spiked drill like bottom with turning bar. This is critical to keep the umbrella from blowing away. I was able to really get it in tight, to the point where I had to unscrew it to get it out at disassembly. We got some heavy wind and the thing barely moved. I also really liked the side panel. One of the annoying thing about umbrellas is that you have to move to stay in the shade throughout the day. But with this, I only had to get up once and switch the side panel from one side to the other to stay in the shade. Took me 10 seconds and I never had to move my chair. Disassembly was also quick and easy. I like how the bag has a Velcro pocket for the stakes and turn bar. I hate when they get lost in the bag. All in all I am impressed with this umbrella. It was much sturdier than I was expecting but still light and easy to assemble. So far I have only used it once. But I will update my review over time to see how it holds up. I expect to get 3-5 years of use out of my umbrellas so we’ll see if this lasts that long. ... show more

This is worth 5 stars overall for stability in wind once assembled but it’s just a *bit* tricky to assemble. First of all, it really does require 2 people or else it’s going to be at least significantly more difficult with one. It’s basically an umbrella, which is good for set up. Other “cabanas” can be kind of tents, with multiple parts and or complicated set ups. But this is basically like deploying an umbrella. A few tricky points and tips below. You’ll want to bury it in the sand farther than the directions say (the blue line on the bottom pole). Especially if it’s at all windy. The bottom pole has a screw to screw into the sand instead of digging a hole. It comes with a small rod that you put through the two button holes that later lock the top part in place. The small rod is used as a handle to screw the bottom into the sand. Again go past the blue line. The pictured finished “cabana” shown was assembled on a day quite windy (10-20 mph winds) and stood steady for the whole day without further attention. Note, the little table doesn’t come with this that was purchased separately. As I said it’s easy enough but for two crucial steps. One, when you open up the umbrella top portion the red lever (pictured) that holds it in place is a bit difficult to release (the latch) and open up the umbrella part. It’s not spring loaded like usual hand held umbrellas in other words. But with one person holding the end level, and the other releasing the red latch it’s easy enough to open I suppose. Just takes a bit of force. Secondly, and this is the trickiest part, the silver pop out buttons that lock the upper to the lower rod as shown, are not obvious how to line up when guiding the (somewhat top heavy) umbrella into the lower rod. What would help really is if they were made with some kind of guide marking, so you could line the two parts up and keep them lined up as you slide the top part into the bottom. Line a red or white line on both parts so you could keep them lined up to make the silver pop out buttons easily snap into place as they got to the holes. Otherwise, as you can imagine, it’s like a guessing game trying to find at what level and position the buttons are to get them to snap out of the holes. Takes a bit of focus and strength to keep the top lined up to the bottom as you guide it down to where the holes are. You’ll also want to be sure both buttons snap in place sometimes one of them isn’t quite lined up. Again with two people this process is easier. I intend to paint some guide lines on the poles to simplify this step in the future. Other than those two issues it works great. And stays in place even in high winds. One final piece of advice: dig a small hole for each of the 4 sandbags and put them in the hole after you fill the bags with sand. They seem to be even more stable when you do that (instead of just laying them on the sand). It can accommodate a person about 5’8” tall when assembled, without crouching down, even if you bury the center rod past the blue line. If you stop at the blue line (on non windy days) might even go to 5’10” although never tried stopping at the blue line. ... show more

We bought this for our family vacation on the beaches. We have tried many alternatives, many different chairs with umbrellas, hoods/canopies, and umbrellas. None worked, they didn't provide the shade we needed, broke easily, or were blown away easy by the wind. This cabana is easy to set up and break down. It is easy to store. The added wall is great, it can be put up on any side and also has pockets to put sand in to. We used it 4-5 times in one week, is still like new and on windy days, it didn't fly away. We saw other umbrellas fly away, but not our cabana. The size we got was to fit 4 adults comfortably. The size is great, enough room for a chairs, great access for shade and sun and can be under both if we want. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. ... show more

Overall: This was soooo easy to set up! And the stability!!! we always have anxiety with our umbrella, but this allowed a sense of peace! It stayed in place with the sand. Price is great! Love the design. I do wish they come a bit larger, and a bit more light weight and compact. It could be a bit thicker for more sun coverage! But I still love it. ... show more
