The perfect printer, almost (Not Sponsored)

This is kinda long, so skip to the bottom for the verdict. This high temp machine is a beast. I tested the chamber temp with a meat probe thermometer, and when the printer was set to 65C, the chamber, in the middle, was getting readings between 65-72C. That's an acceptable level of drift for my purposes, but if you need to be precise, perhaps some PID tuning may be in order. Now on to the main reason for spending this much. Print quality! Granted you are doing typical maintenance, like occasionally washing your build plate with soap, conditioning it with high temp adhesive, etc, as well as individual filament tuning, this will produce near perfect prints with zero to very little warping, rivaling any Prusa or Bambu. "It just works" is the best way I can describe the Plus5. Gone are the days of manual calibration, and endlessly tweaking slicer settings to troubleshoot print quality issues. The preloaded filament profiles have produced flawless prints for me so far. I have zero complaints, except that you have to leave the top open for PLA which is kinda annoying. I'm avoiding it altogether for now until I get the cooler box for fear of getting nozzle clogs. For the first time in years, I actually look forward to working with my printer. I'm having flashbacks from the Ender days lol. The thing basically calibrates itself. The only thing I had to do manually was leveling the corners. Everything else was just following a menu prompt, and letting it do its thing. The initial calibration right out of the box takes about 10-15 minutes. The only thing I don't like about this printer is actually not the printer itself, but rather the QIDI Box. First, it's loud af. It makes this ratcheting sound everytime filament moves through it. I understand there's a functional reason behind it, but damn it's annoying to hear. Also, it doesn't do cardboard spools well, so you'll need to print an adapter first TL:DR-Amazing, high quality printer that's made with quality components that punches way above its weight class. Highly recommend!

Great Printer, Terrible Filament Management System

Great printer, terrible filament selection workflow and sync with the filament box. Don't even bother ordering this with the box unless you plan to use only Qidi filaments and hope nothing goes wrong...it's full of software bugs, and once it stops communicating, it's useless. Also, the box can only heat while it's printing. This means after the print is done and the box cools, your filament can start to absorb moisture. I doubt the tiny packs of desiccant are doing much. At that point, you need to pull the filament out and re-dry it...which can take hours. It's a great printer, but the filament management software is terrible.

When the printer first arrived I had trouble with the Qidi Box. Elenor and the team in customer support quickly responded and helped me to fix the problem, a couple of screws were the culprit. The printer and box work unbelievably well and with engineering filaments as well as PLA. I highly recommend this printer
