Does well for cold brew coffee! Simple to use! Filter is decent, with little sediment left over from a 14 brew. More sediment from a 48 hour brew. Jar is large and plastic lid handle feels a brittle. Maybe heavy for some while full with fluid. I’m handwashing and skipping the dishwasher for these. So far no leaks in the lid. I haven’t checked but I’d guess a large mason jar lid will fit this also. I used extra strength beans and looked up basic recipes on Google for a good, no-frills, cold brew. Would recommend and would buy again. I bought two for the price of other branded or otherwise cold brew makers.

If you’ve wanted to make cold brew at home but were skeptical, BUY THIS! I have tried almost every way to make coffee, but was too scared to make cold brew. This product makes it almost too easy. I used 1 1/2 cups of coarse ground coffee, filled it with cold water, and let it brew overnight on the counter. I was prepared for the first batch to at most be just okay, but it was incredible. Super easy to use and to clean.

I love this cold brewer. The size is great, the filter is good quality! I did have a plastic filter before, this one is a metal mesh filter and it's superior. Easy to clean, great product the lid is sturdy, you won't be sorry you bought this!

Is it necessary to make cold brew, no, but it does make it convenient. I've made 4 - 5 cups of cold brew concentrate easily using this, and once cleaned out, it is a good way to keep the coffee in the fridge. The strainer is easy to clean, and the wide mouth of the jug makes it a quick cleanup as well. If someone is looking for something to make cold brew consistently, this is worth the price for the convenience.
