I really really really REALLY wish I had discovered this sooner. We used to have a fish tank guy, but he charged an arm and a leg, and I got into fish keeping myself, so I do all the work now. Even for $70-$100, it’s worth every penny. I have a 50 gallon fish tank and frequently do 50% water changes so you can imagine how frustrating and beyond tedious emptying it with a large measuring cup (or a cleaned empty gallon tub from ice cream 🤣) and then filling it with 25 gallons separate of water was 🙄🙄🙄. there is definitely a learning curve, and it took me about 10 times to really nail this down. For example, if when you are vacuuming the gravel, and you lift the tube above the water, letting some out, you need to go back to the sink turn it off turn it on blah blah blah to get your suction back. Another thing that still happens to me, is when you’re filling it, and you’re done so you close the valve, water always spurts out from the Fossett so I need to hang a towel over it so it doesn’t spray my kitchen floor. It definitely has something to do with how tight it’s put on, but I think it mainly has to do with all the pressure of the water still running through the tube and not being allowed to escape because the valve is closed. My goal is for it to stop spraying. Then I’ll feel better lol. I can do this in under 10 minutes now. The only other thing you need to be careful about is if your tank gravel is dirty, you will very quickly run out of water by the time you were done vacuuming everything up. I usually only have enough time to do a third of the tank until the water gets to about 40%, which can stress the fish, so I just do the other parts next time. I keep fussy fish, so I do this about twice a week now. This is the biggest convenience item I have bought in a while and my husband didn’t even complain when he saw the hundred dollar charge for “my hobby“ lmao LOVE THIS. ... show more

Works as many have said. AMAZING. The hose reaches from my kitchen across the dining room with room to spare so the 25ft is enough. This will make water changes faster and easier on my elderly father who can't lift up the water bucket.

This invention is an answer to prayer!! I had previously purchased a gun style tank suction cleaner, and was very unhappy with how cumbersome it was to suction and finally clean the gravel. Thank God it stopped working, only after 3 uses, which caused me to search for something else similar. I had read a review on that particular product, whereby the person suggested trying the Python. So I looked up the Python, read the reviews, and was confident it would perform better. The Python of course cost more, but just Like most things in life…you get what you pay for! I am soooo happy I made this investment, it is well worth the higher price. The suction is fantastic, and I love how it cleans the gravel without muddying all the tank water. It deep cleans in record time, and is very efficient…love the suction power! The best part is NO MO BUCKETS👏🏾👏🏾!! I’m not exhausted when I finish, and my filtration system finishes up by making the tank crystal clear in no time. I don’t dread my monthly cleanings anymore🙌🏾.     • No more buckets!
I've been using buckets to do water changes because all my tanks were nano and up to 20 gallon max. I felt it wasn't necessary to have a python no spill 'n fill system. However, I just upgraded one of my tank to a 75 gallon. I couldn't imagine filling that tank with buckets let alone doing water changes. Therefore, I bought the system and glad I did. Filling up the tank was as easy as pie. I haven't done water change with this yet because I only filled the tank for a leak test. I can't wait to use this system once my tank is all set up. There were no leaks or anything like that with the hose. The only problem is that I have to buy a smaller male adapter because the original adapter that comes with the system didn't fit my faucet. ... show more

    • No more buckets!!!
First, this thing was a B___!!!! to find the tap adaptor to use. Took several trips to the hardware store, an attempt at a new faucet (that didn't work), special plumbing and Amazon orders before finally finding a $1.98 sprinkler reducer I could use on my kitchen sink. But, it was worth it!!!! I have cut my water changing times down to a fraction of the time. The only thing I wish I could control is how much water it feels like I'm wasting while vacuuming gravel. It used to take a full 8-10 hours to do 25 tanks. Now I split it up into two days a week and can get what I need done in about an hour each day. I'm never carrying another bucket again! ... show more

This kit is the best! Easy to use, easy instructions and easy to store. I had done a massive cleaning on a 55 gallon tank. It was bad!!! I inherited 2 cichlids and some old filters. Dirty gravel etc. I did 2 water changes and yes, lots of back and forth with 5 gallon buckets. I’m a shorty and dang I pulled so many muscles lol. Decided to go big meaning going for the best reviews and all parts included. I have a beautiful 55 gallon with happy Jack Dempseys!! And so easy to set up can’t believe I’m saying this but it’s fun to watch fish poop being sucked away and tank is nice and clear and doesn’t disturb the fish. This makes water changes so simple! I've got a 40gal and 60gal tank and tried to save a few buck by buying the Aqueon version but as the other reviews stated - just save yourself the time and fork over the money for this kit. You won't be disappointed. It's so easy to use! I only gave it 4 stars because the IMO the longer tube for cleaning is less powerful. The hook for filling up the aquarium is ingenious - just add your de-chlorinator before you start refilling. I've tested for chlorine after filling in this manner and have had no issues. ... show more
